Great splitter to convert non-PoE devices into PoE-compatible ones-
What can I say? It is a splitter, for cameras that do not have the PoE functionality out of the box. This allows you to run the PoE signal, and terminate it back to power and data, at the end where your connection is (camera, routers, etc). If it uses PoE, you only need an injector. If they do not use PoE, this item converts them into PoE compatible devices. So an Amcrest 1080P PTZ cam, would be able to use this WITH an injector, b/c they are not able to use PoE directly to the port they use for data. The product comes with multiple tips, for different power levels of applications. There is a switch for changing these levels, to limit the power going to a device - to the amount it needs to run. It is an effective combo with the PoE Injector, and these splitters actually fit inside most domes/housings for IP cameras. With my own, I used Velcro tape to secure it to the wall, and it splits the power in the final foot or two (connecting to the cameras)Each device will need its own, so if you are planning a system, remember that these splitters, and extra injectors (or a PoE output router), which will cost extra in the end. PoE is nice to keep clutter down, and to run wires nicely, but it is primarily to run power and data on one cable. So if you have cameras that are PoE compatible, then you do not need this. If they are not (and require a plug for power - and wifi or Ethernet as a data source), you will need this splitter for those cameras only.I hope this helps a bit - I know PoE can be confusing to those that are new to it.

Works great I have 4 of them!
Great product solved the problem for me. I had purchased several foscam R2's great camera however one big draw back is they don't have POE which is a real pain if you don't have power nearby where you are going to mount the camera. So instead of running power to all the camera locations I just pulled an Ethernet cable and bought these to power the cameras with. Pretty slick it just plugs into the ethernet cable and then pulls the power from your POE switch just as any other POE device would you then plug the power cord out from the box into the device you need to power and you plug the ethernet cable into the device as well as the box and presto you are done. The box has a switch to select 5v,7v, and 12v out and comes with a nice selection of power tips to fit many applications and different power jacks. This is a brilliant device and works much better than a passive injector would allows you to use POE from your network switch (if you have a POE network switch) and skip all the clutter from injectors for each line on the other end.

Excellent solution for any POE environment. Recomended by IT expert and easy to use
Works like a charm with Foscam cameras. We have a POE switch but don't want to bother with power cables so this makes it clean and simple. We hid the splitter in the ceiling so we can hang a camera without running power. Just ran a Cat5e cable and it looks neat.Adjustable DIP switch for 5V, 9V, and 12V adjustable outputOnly problem is the Interchangeable tips included. The power port on the Foscams doesn't fit well. The closest one is way too small and comes out. We used a zip tie to the cat5 cable and its holds it in securely. I would highly recommend this productPhotos are ceiling camera and demo camera showing adapter that we move from one room to another.

Works as expected, no complaints
I bought this PoE splitter to use a non-PoE Foscam (FI8918) in a location where I didn't have a power outlet. I have a PoE switch in my garage to power my outdoor security cameras. I installed an Agasio A512-POE camera inside the garage to keep an eye on my tools only to discover that it put out so much RF interference that my garage door opener remotes no longer worked. The FI8918 didn't have this problem so I returned the Agasio and bought this splitter instead. It's hidden above the drywall in the garage ceiling with the camera mounted on the ceiling. The only potential con I can think of is that output power wire from the splitter is only 5-6 inches long, so the splitter has to be mounted very close to the camera. In my case that worked out fine but I could see it causing problems for others if they wanted to hide the splitter.

Good but NOT Gigabyte Ethernet as Listed in Detailed Product Description
The device itself works fine, but the product description says the ethernet ports are 10/100/1000 which they ARE NOT. The top description says "Fast Ethernet" but unless you know that means 10/100 you may assume that the product description is correct. I need gigabyte ethernet for what I'm doing, so this product won't work for me. I'll have to order something else. So buyer beware when it comes to the product description.

Great for powering a Tivo Mini using PoE.
No problems whatsoever - I'm using this to power a Tivo Mini on the back of my TV, so I don't have to run an additional wire through the wall, and can just velcro the Tivo Mini and this power adapter to the back of the TV. It works perfectly well for this - has the correct power tip to connect to the Mini. It does not get hot, and in the last two weeks since I've had it, the reliability has been good on both the power and network side.

It works
Turns regular poe into data with ethernet with 5/9/12v output with different adapters. Works as expected when you want to make a non poe camera work in a poe situation. It can probably be used for something else if you feel like butchering a cable, like using a poe switch for a pie and this as it's supply in 5v mode.

Terrible customer service
WARNING - THIS DOESN'T POWER NEWER FOSCAM MODELS!I bought this adapter for the new Foscam C1 camera to adapt it to PoE. I didn't realize the C1 model moved to a microUSB power port and this adapter only provides the standard circular connector. I just need an elbow adapter to microUSB. So I e-mailed [email protected] twice with no response, so after a feedback request e-mail from Amazon I e-mailed [email protected], they told me to e-mail the manufacturer at [email protected]. I'm confused how the two companies are different. Either way, don't say it powers all Foscam cameras when it clearly doesn't. Also, 7 e-mails later I've received no valuable responses. Terrible customer service.
