SINGER(R Quick Cut Electric Scissors - Red & White

I purchased this product as a gift for my granddaughter. When it arrived , the packaging was yellow from age and cracked in several places.When I tried to use it, I found it it be awkward to handle not suitable for a 10 year old. I have a very old electric scissor which she has used while here and enjoyed , but this Singer set is not easy to handle.

I am a weaver. I bought the scissors to cut material into strips to weave into rugs. For the two times that I used it, it was awesome! I was thrilled by the way it cut through two layers of material. However, the third time I picked them up to use, they didn't work. I thought perhaps the batteries were dead. Replaced them, but it still doesn't work. Hardly worth the purchase price if they are only good for ten minutes of cutting and they die.

Old version much better. Hard to cut with tears paper. Bring old version back. Would not buy again

I have been a professional tailor for over 30 years, and have found these to be very helpful. I don't think enough people who give these a bad review really know how to use them, of have the confidence to work with a piece that has a not-perfect cut. These are hard to control as far as getting a totally smooth edge, but with practice, you can get a very good-enough edge, and save yourself a bunch of time and hand strain. I have had mine for about ten years, and have used them fairly regularly, and they have a great battery life, and just keep going. I like them so much, I'm going to get another one, for when the one I have finally does quit. E.W.

I have tried several times to use this product to cut out patterns while sewing. I have had to revert back to regular sissors.I would not recommend this product to any adult who wants to use it for sewing. It may be fine for young adults for crafts.I would send it back for a refund it I could.This is the first time I have purchased anything with the Singer name that is so bad, and everything I have ever purchased through Amazon.comhas been a good product.Kathy Clifton[...]
