Great system
I hooked this guy up to replace an old PC1502? DSC alarm and it was a drop in replacement. I also got the wireless keypad RFK5500 which used the existing keypad wiring and allowed me to add two WS4916 wireless heat/smoke and two WS4904P wireless motion. I used the existing door wired zones, power brick and battery. I could still add several wired/wireless zones but this gets the job done for me.I also added the EVL-3 Eyez-on LAN module for really cheap monitoring without adding a POTS line which is the price that matters in the long run. I can also see live status, zone history, set (away/stay)arm/disarm and even press arbitrary keypad button sequences through a mobile website.I'm really happy with it so far.

Works as expected
Does exactly what it's supposed to do. Comments:- Programming a security system isn't easy, but its not nearly as hard as it sounds. It's nothing like programming in a computer language. Just read through the included manual once or twice, get clarification from the internet as needed, and you should be set within a day or two.- The included box is quite cheap. It uses metal tabs as hinges and there's no included lock.- This is a great upgrade from an older DSC panel. I upgraded from a PC1555. Wiring was identical except that the new panel had dedicated power wires for the keypad. No changes to wiring or end-of-line resistors was required.

Great panel for the price
I am fan of DSC. The price point for this panel is absurdly low making for an awesome small business/residential hybrid system (wire/wireless). DSC has never failed me. I have buddies enamored with nest and the junk they are peddling. Then they see a system ive done and feel ripped; which of course they were. Those table top systems, think of that running for a decade or more; never ever gonna happen, be tossed in a drawer. Add an envisalink keypad and got a system that will go the distance.

Product box appears to have significant water damage.
Product box and anything paper related appears to have gotten wet. Also the bag of resistors, battery cables and standoffs. Board itself appears fine, won't know til powered up.

but overall the system works like a charm
I ordered this to replace and existing alarm system. There was an old monitored alarm system from the previous owner. I just wired everything up the the previous alarm system and programmed the new alarm system. I still have a couple of sensors to program, but overall the system works like a charm.I hooked the new alarm system up using the Eyezon Envisalink EVL-4EZR. I connected this to my Mi Casa Verde Vera Plus z-wave controller to monitor the alarm system for me.

a little complicated to program but I don't install alarms every day. That being said I used to install the older 832 alarm panels in Banks 20 yrs ago.These have many features and programmable options, and are fully supervised.
