can this record noise over a certain period of time?

No, this does not record, just measures the decibels of the noise

How well will this work to measure the sound level in a car cabin?

IT can work fine. When turned “on” it displays an internal reading that appears high. Ignore this reading because the car read is probably higher.

Would this work well to capture db from the high-pitched sound of pickleball paddle/ball impacts?

No, but you can throw it at all those darn whippersnappers making all that racket. Why can’t they play something quiet like checkers or canasta??

I'd need a guide for dummies unless I'm missing something. Useless

I bought this to see how the noise laws in Scotland compare with my house. Can't find an answer for love nor money, so essentially useless

missing accessories

Product works well. But was missing the pouch and the battery that were shown in the image. Probably the seller is taking it out and selling them separately.

Not worth the money

Very inaccurate. Bought this to set up home theatre speakers and while using test tone at constant volume the meter kept jumping 4 to 5 decibels a second . Free sound meter app on mobile phone is a lot more accurate
