Great for the Money. Won't Eliminate Chip Completely but Will Save Windshield!
This kit does an OK job of filling rock chips. It is worth 5 stars because it will hide a lot of the damage and keep the rock chip from "spidering" out across the windshield. My second purchase. And this last rock chip was a doozy. See the photos. The good thing is that it was located on the passenger side this time. The first one I repaired was on the drivers side and I barely notice it anymore. Follow the directions! Be thorough and don't get in a hurry. Although this one didn't hide as well, it's still a bargain at $13, compared to $65 for the pros to do it. And it saves having to replace the windshield for now. I've used a few JB Weld products and they don't disappoint. Really like the weld kit for metal. And the plastic weld kit has been awesome too. Nice that they have gone to a dual plunger dispenser for easy mixing. Do not have high expectations with this windshield kit. It does a great job but it won't erase the chip completely.

Get it.
Worked pretty good following the step-by-step instructions. I always like JB weld products, so I figured this stuff must work good too. After I did the step by step instructions, I have to admit I did the last step twice as it seemed to touch up the surface a little. I would use this again. Taking the pedestal off the windshield was the hardest part and requires patience an attention to not cut yourself.

I found a major flaw in the design!
I had a small star crack on my windshield from a rock and tried this product out. The instructions were straight forward until step 4, adding the resin. This is a design flaw in my opinion. At this point, we've sealed the area off with the pedestal and adhesive. The only access to the windshield crack is through the small pedestal chamber, and the chamber is filled with air at this point. The instructions say, "then add the resin". Since the chamber is filled with air, resin cannot enter the small chamber! I slightly squeezed the resin tube, and the resin pushed against the air in the pedestal chamber, couldn't go into the pedestal, understandably, but had to go somewhere. So it leaked all over the outside of the pedestal. Honestly, I barely squeezed the resin tube. The only way for resin to go in, is for air to go out. So for the people this works for, they must have an air leak somewhere. Since you're in the shade and the pedestal is opaque, you cannot confirm if resin made it into the pedestal or not. So the remaining steps of creating a low then high pressure environment with the syringe do nothing since there's no resin in the chamber when you think it is there! To make things worst, people then follow the final step of sealing the area off at the end with the resin, meaning they permanently "seal the crack in". Their crack will never be fixed until they replace the whole windshield. Read all the reviews where people say, "I followed all the steps and nothing happened". Yep! Resin never made it into the chamber because of this design and they permanently sealed their crack in. This is the same concept of when you create a small hole in a can of soup and turn it upside down. Soup doesn't fall out because air cannot go in to fill any space because the soup is blocking it.

Works but you are working blind
The product is good. My only issue is that there is no way to know how much resin you are putting into the pedestal or how much resin, if any, is still left in the tube. They should consider either including 2 tubes, the primary for the pedestal, and a second with a very small amount of resin in it, or a clear tube so that you can see what you are doing. Otherwise, the product seems to work well, though time will tell.

J-B Weld 2100 vs Permatex 09103
I got two rock chips in my windshield at the same time so I tried both the JB Weld 2100 and Permatex 09103 at the same time. Even though both repairs appeared to be equally effective (maybe 80-90%), I have to say the JB Weld kit was better overall. The JB Weld disk that attaches to the windshield had two different colors on each side so you would know which side went on the windshield. Also, the epoxy tube had a functional cap while the permatex instructions mention a cap but it didn't actually come with the kit. The seal on the JB Weld kit syringe seemed to be a little better as well. As I mentioned, both kits seemed got the job done, but the JB Weld kit was a little more complete.

Disappointed — didn’t live up to expectations
I picked up the J-B Weld 2100 Windshield Saver Repair Kit hoping it would handle a small chip in my windshield. As someone with actual experience doing windshield repairs, I followed the instructions carefully, but the resin just didn’t fill the damage like it should have. The result wasn’t what I was expecting — the chip is still visible, and I’m not confident this will stop it from spreading. Maybe it works for super tiny chips, but in my case, it didn’t do the job. Ended up calling in a pro after all.

A reliable product from a trusted brand
Understand what these products can and can't do and you shouldn't be disappointed! You can still see where the damage was but it didn't expand or worsen in anyway. I don't even notice it any more. This worked as described. I followed the directions precisely and got a nice repair out of it for far less money (and time) than a professional ship repair. There are other products out there reportedly creating bigger problems and messes to clean up. I cancelled an order on such a product and was very glad to find an use this one. This is a single use kit, to be sure. There is extra left over, but without a spare adhesive pad you wouldn't really have a good way to use it. I saved my leftovers anyway...

Last step keep your car under sunlight
It's magic. This is my first DIY for glass repair, and the glass is almost as good as new. Took me 2 days as I didn't keep the car under the sun in the last step, so I applied another layer the next day. This product is amazing ❤️ This is a highly recommended product, amazing results 👍👌

Good for basic holes, not for star shaped damage
Product was applied as per instructions, it filled the main part of damage but did not appear to penetrate into cracks. Will see if it holds up.
