I cannot get the bottom back on after putting the 6 D batteries in and I am turning it clockwise. Is there a trick to it ?

The "trick" is getting ahold of a man with large hands to do it for you. I'm a very small woman with very small hands, and although I tried for close to an hour; I couldn't do it until a male friend of mine came over and did it for me.... It's the only inconvenient thing about this Lantern..... other than that I love it.

I have an Google phone, which I think uses Android system - will the lantern charge this phone?

Ours are Android and the lantern recharged them during Hurricane Ian. It is a slow recharge, of course, as it is just coming from D-cell batteries, but it helped us be able to stay in contact when without power.
