Red Cross Complete Medication Kit for Tooth Pain, 0.125 oz

I have a deep cavity which needs extraction. It is very painful. Unfortunately, I have to wait several weeks for the oral surgery due mostly to my own availability. In the meantime, I'm treating the pain with over the counter oral pain meds, but I needed more in the way of topical numbing that I was getting from the liquid drugstore product that I had purchased. This Red Cross kit provides so much relief from pain. The eugenol liquid is very strong, effective and clove scented. It works well to numb the pain. However, I don't like the application process with the included tools at all. It is messy and difficult to accomplish without burning the surrounding tissue. When I first tried it with the tweezers and cotton pellets, I felt sick from ingesting too much eugenol and had so much burning as well. My experience became much better when I switched to using swabs. This is what I do, and recommend it instead of the included tools: 1) Get yourself a package of swabs with wooden sticks. Order it at the same time as this kit. I like the one sided 6" long ones. I found ones here on Amazon that are packaged in individual sealed packets of two each, and come in a big box of two hundred (search Premium Cotton Tipped Wood Applicators). They're sterile, which seems important for something going into your mouth, and I highly recommend them. The long wood handle is a good choice because it's firm, provides needed control and is therefore easy to guide and direct the swab to exactly where you want it, and hold it there for one minute. Trust me, these are so much better than the usual standard two sided swabs, and they'll make a huge difference in using this product, for not a lot of money spent. 2) I like to perform the treatment in the bathroom so that I can make use of the mirror. Open the bottle, set it on the counter, insert the swab for a few seconds until it absorbs liquid, then remove and hold it in your dominant hand. Use a finger on your non-dominant hand to hold your lips and inner cheek as far away from your teeth as you can. You want to avoid getting the liquid on any skin or tissue or it will burn. 3) Carefully hold the swab against the cavity for one minute without moving it. 4) Use a wet washcloth to dab at any liquid that may have gotten on your tongue or lips. Don't eat or drink for a little while, perhaps a half hour, after the treatment. This provides relief to me for hours. I use this product twice a day, once in the morning and once before bedtime. I rinse my mouth with warm salt water beforehand to clean out any food debris. It took me a few tries to get the process right, and I've become very good at it now, and able to precisely treat the cavity without the eugenol burning or making me feel sick. I hope my experience helps you. The worse part is the burning, which will be minimal if you use my method of application. The best part is the relief from tooth pain that lasts for many hours.

This product has saved my life several times during mouth troubles. It is my go-to when a toothache or gum pain strikes. It is easy to apply, glides on smoothly, stays on/has lasting effect for hours, and is a great value for the price point. I have never had leakage from the packaging, it is quite durable - however, my qualm is the scent isn’t my personal favorite. Otherwise I would highly recommend it across the board to anyone with a dental issue, it can definitely save you in a pinch. I have attached photos of the actual product.

Other products are superficial this stuff tastes awful but works really well

I discovered this product in 2020 and have used it when normal toothache gels do not work. It numbs your mouth so much that you very well may be drooling so just be aware of that. I ordered more as I had same dame dentures which hurt the second the local numbing wears off & more as your mouth gets used to your "new" teeth. I found this a huge relief again for this "Post dental extension" & Denture pain. *I did avoid contact directly with extractions sites! THIS PRODUCT HAS SAVED ME FROM MIND BLOWING PAIN FOR 6 YEARS. Regular toothaches, exposed nerves, root canals, crowns & single implant and now dentures! No doubt it would also work for canker sores if you ever get those. Smells very strong- Which is good its mostly Clove Oil. Liquid concentration & nobody can see it in your mouth but again you may drool from the relief It's easy to use. You can use the teeny cotton balls and teeny tweezers but I often dip a Q tip into it and apply it there & even leave the Other side of the Q tip coming out of my mouth which I find easier. The value for the amount of instant relief is amazing. For me its an item i got a new order of & was happy to see it on Amazon as its hard to find from my experience in local stores. Have it on hand *before* you need it. Suggest to keep it inside a platic zipper bag in a safe space it is very small.

This stuff helps but the taste is terrible! You have to put it on the tooth only! If it gets on your tongue and inside your cheek omg it burns like fire hot burning! Just remember not to swallow any of it! I hope this helps someone

Wow amazing project. Takes the pain away. Lasts a long time. Only thing is I think it changed me taste buds for a few days after use.

Unbelievable product. I have a vertical fracture in my molar which has caused a severe infection. I was having throbbing pain and I am pregnant so I couldn’t take advil and Tylenol was not cutting it. I couldn’t get into the dentist quickly and turned to this as orajel was fine but didn’t last long enough. This stuff completely takes away the pain. I am so impressed and so happy I was able to get the relief I needed with this. I was actually able to fall asleep!
