Great cheap solution
Many of the braces on Amazon have spring inserts, this is one of the few brands that comes with rigid inserts as well, which was important for our dog with achilles damage. After some initial awkwardness our pup has increased stability in her hind legs thanks to these. Make sure they are tight, but not too tight, or else it won't work or could cut off circulation. There are better solutions but they are much more expensive. This is very good value. Would recommend for dogs who need minor support.

Had to modify mine with a sewing machine
This is an amazing support, and absolutely helps our older pup be safer as she recovers from her hock injury. If we do not have the brace on her, she does tend to re-injur it more often. We are only using it on the injured leg instead of both, but I'm glad we will have it on hand in case of future injury. When we put the brace on our dog's hock joint, she uses the injured leg like normal. We even have to keep an eye on her to stop jumping around and running, because she thinks she's healed. It's really that amazing of a product. It works.Despite reading some of the reviews that showed how the support stick was causing injury to some dogs' skin, I was willing to take the risk, and just closely monitor the dog. After a few days, the problem started happening to us. Here is why it happens, and here is what I did for a solution:As you can see in my pictures, there is a channel where you're supposed to insert the support stick (rigid or springy sticks). This has an opening just the size of the width of the stick located toward the top on the rear facing side of the channel. You're supposed to stretch the channel vertically and poke the stick out the opening. The problem is, that's the same direction the dog's leg bends the brace when using it. The pictures show a large cutout in the center. That's the rear of the brace. The hock joint goes in that hole. When the brace is velcro'd in place and the dog is using the leg, the tension of the leg folds the top and bottom of the brace forward, toward each other. That is the exact motion they expect you to do to get the support stick out, so the stick comes out from natural motion of the dog.My solution was to move the hole to the other side of the channel, so the brace is now folding forward, AWAY from the fabric channel opening. Another solution would've been to simply move the channel hole further down (not too far), so the top of the support stick runs into the top of the channel. It's kinda sad that they didn't catch this design flaw, but I don't mind since this works great and is priced much lower than some other similar products.

Helped with patellar luxating or "floating kneecap" be more stable somewhat.
My dog has the patellar luxating on her rear legs, is a senior, and has arthritis. Now in her later years, she is unable to go up her dog ramp as much as before. She supports her weight more towards her back left leg rather than the right. Because of that when she needs to turn or walk back, it gets hard. At times she would either fall back sitting down, or fall to her right side. She recently sprained her right leg, or maybe locked it in and was having walking. This time, she must of sprained her right leg because she had it stretched out and was trembling. Either that or maybe her leg was locked in.The following day after her injury, she was able to talk normally, but I still put on the braces and noticed a slight difference. She was still floppy on her legs, but where her legs would normally bend to the right or left, depending where shes putting her weight, the brace helped her be stabilized more. Still wobbly, but more stiff. Similar to how we humans have a sprain and we put on a brace. We know its injured but still are careful and rely on our brace.Anyway, I attached photos of the measurements to help you guys decided between a Extra small, or a small. Cuz, my dogs legs are odd in size. Hopes this helps!

Not very good
Did not seem to work or help my dog.

The measurement chart is wrong
Or the braces I received are irregulars. Either way, they won't go around my dogs leg. I measured where the picture said to measure and came up with just at 2.0 inches. I ordered x-smal. They are so small, they will not even touch so the velcro is useless.

Literally saved my dog's life
10 months ago, I had noticed when my 16 yr old dog was standing still to eat or drink, sometimes his legs would start to slide outward and then one day, he woke up and was unable to stand or walk at all I had him scheduled for euthanasia 3 days later. That night, I saw these and decided to take a chance. They arrived 2 days later and he was walking as soon as I put them on. After 2 days he didn't need them anymore, but I do put them on a few hours a week or whenever I notice some weakness in his legs. They are easy to use and he doesn't seem to mind them at all. I always remove them after a few hours and at night though. As long as I keep the hair cleaned where it grips to the velcro, it will stay in place until I remove it.He is a 26lb terrior mix. I ordered the medium based on the size chart and they fit perfectly. He is now 17 yrs old and I am so grateful for these braces and the extra time they have given me with my pup.

Such a big help!
My 8 pound chihuahua has tiny ankles, about the size of my thumb, making it hard to find supports. The extra small actually fits her little toothpicks and help her move around so much better. Ordering extras for sure

Trop souple
J’ai dû mettre des tiges plus rigide car il y avait une flexion trop importante

Doesn't act to support hock at all. Waste of money
The media could not be loaded. Dog has fallen arches requiring the hock to be braced. Despite measuring carefully item does not do what it says it should . See photos, hock is not kept straighter despite using the metal rigid splints supplied .
