Excellent, High Quality American Product
Classic, sturdy, very useful tool set. One of the best out there. Others have copied it over the years. But none that I know of beat it. As a very involved aviation engineer, working in and around every kind of installation task wrt high performance machinery, I bought this when I noticed one of my technicians touting around a scuffed, older looking small case of mini tools. It was the ORIGINAL Chapman ratchet set, much less involved as this one, but still amazing. It was over 25 years old I surmised, and he swore by it. I bought this one immediately, and when I got it, compared it to the older one, and it was very similar, even in the quality and function. His, having seen 25+ years of aviation installation work, looked the same, worked well, and hardly showed the age. The case on the new one is a quality item in and of itself (and this is important if you lug these things around all day in a tool bag, crawling around aircraft and weapon systems), and it is built to the same rock solid form, built like a tank. The case allows for easy accounting of items (necessary for tool control, if you need that). I know I made the right choice. Well worth the price (especially if I can use it for the next 20 years) and it's made in America, proudly indicated by a sticker on the case. One small note though. My handle is not as tight fitting as the original one (25 year old one). By that I mean the chucks (or the extension that is included) do not snugly snap into the handle as tightly as I would like. The chucks and extension can slip out with a little pull out force. It doesn't FALL out, but it is not tightly held as the original or other brands. VERY small nit.

Great basic tool kit!
I bought this toolkit based on a recommendation from a coworker. We all have one and use them for working on server chassis, antennas, and computers. Pros: 1. The bits can be used with the extension or directly in the screwdriver handle which is awesome for getting into tight spaces. 2. Every bit is also knurled on the end so it can be turned with your fingers easily. 3. The ratchet is small enough to fit easily into small spaces and doesn't require much space to "click" so you can unscrew/bolt items with very little turning room and with great leverage. 4. The wide assortment of well constructed bits means that almost anything I need is close at hand. 5. Made in the USA! Cons: 1. The bits aren't very secure in the case, so if you drop it they're going everywhere. 2. The ratchet only rotates in one direction and you change from "in" to "out" by flipping it over. It is silver on both sides and the engraving is difficult to read. I had to paint mine black on one side so I know which direction it's facing without having to hold it in bright light.

I wish I had purchased this set years ago!
Just got a Master kit this past weekend and ended up using it for hours on all kinds of machine projects I did not think the tools would be needed for. Great USA-made quality at a fair price. Pride of Made in USA shows proudly on the box. I've owned hex bit sets for a long time, including recent USA-made, Chinese-made sets from the discount bin at the hardware store, forged bits from Europe (Hazet & Facom), and set from the Tool-truck brands (Snap-On, Mac, and Matco). They all have their place but I wish I had bought this set years ago. Having seen these kits before through the years I knew the tools would be good but what was a big surprise to me was the ease of use of the master case. I can see and easily get metric and standard bits out and something as simple as case layout makes a big difference in time and frustration to get my hands on the tool bit I need. The only thing I would change is that I wish the case layout label with the bit sizes was installed as a sticker instead of just a card.

Excellent set with a few potential caveats
Obviously well crafted tools, and a very useful set. Instead of multiple PH2 bits, and too many slotted bits to count, Chapman includes all the metric and SAE hex bits you'll likely need, a potentially helpful "bit spinner", and two extensions. Unfortunately, I returned the set due to two issues. First, although I appreciate the handle quality and aesthetics, it doesn't feel as good in my hand as the equivalent Wera handles. Not as ergonomic, and I wish it had contrasting soft areas for better grip. More importantly, however, the handle doesn't lock the extensions in place, and although they weren't falling out during normal use, I prefer using Wera handles with a rapidaptor. The extensions do feature ball detents, but just don't attach tightly enough for my taste. Second, considering they also feature ball detents (and without the typical inch bit indent) the bits will likely only work well with Chapman handles. They do feel much more secure in the extensions than the latter in the handle, and they don't wobble, but I use a variety of handles, and thus prefer universal bits. Much less of an issue, but perhaps worth mentioning; the included bits are listed on easily lost card insert instead of etched in the case, and the bits themselves are too darkly colored to read the size markings. I appreciate the industrial aesthetics, but memorizing bit locations is impractical for most of us, especially if you don't carefully return each bit to its intended slot after each use. Finally, unlike every other piece in the set, the spinner is plastic, and a little smaller than I expected. It may be useful for some, and holds bits very snugly, but the knurling on each bit already provides enough grip for use sans handle, so it feels somewhat redundant. And without a place to attach it inside the case, it's likely to rattle around while moving, and might even fall out if the case is abruptly opened. That said, if the above aren't an issue, I suspect you'll love the set. It's (well) made in the U.S.A., very portable, and most of the tools are well secured in the case. An included card even provides the name of the QC employee, and I'd be surprised if Chapman support is anything short of best in class.

Safely Removes Stubborn Screws!
I am restoring a 19th Century watchmaker's topping tool. It has dozens of screws. Most of them appear to have been installed by the Swiss screw-tightening Olympic team. It quickly became evident that I need to up my screwdriver game if I am going to avoid camming out and damaging screw heads. (I had already ground a custom profile into one screwdriver blade - still no go). So, I set the work aside for a day while Amazon delivered the Chapman 5575 Master Set (thanks Amazon!). I found the price a little daunting but figured, "what the hay? If it works, it's worth it." OMG!!! I own some expensive Bergeon custom profile screwdrivers - these are better. These are easily the best screwdriver blades I've ever used. There is NO danger of camming out. The ergonomics for keeping the blade engaged in the slot are simply superb. I could not be happier!

Great tool set!
As a Machinist for 44 years I had access to company provided tools. My brother asked me if I had a Chapman set and I had not heard the name previously. (Don't be mad Jill and Karen, I just needed to be schooled by my older brother) He saw the knock-off set that I had and told me I should invest in a Chapman. I have had nothing but great things to say about the set that I purchased. I used it tonight to remove the Torx screws on my older weather beaten Ring Doorbell mounting screws. When the screws wouldn't budge, I applied a drop of Kroils penatrant and the first screw broke free. The second was not budging so I knew I was taking a gamble on the smallest bit in my set so I was not surprised when it sheered off. I was bummed about losing the bit from my shiny new set but saw that I can order individual bits. I finally had to remove that screw with my Snap-on pliers. I threw those screws out and replaced them with Stainless hardware. I can't say enough about a good quality tool and especially nice to see made in the USA. Well Done Ladies! Happy International Women's day

Made in USA - not cheap Chinese steel made from brittle cheese
The wonderful attention to detail, the personal packing note from the QA employee at Chapman, the awesome bits carefully sized to fit the jobs you are doing perfectly. But most of all, top quality steel made by Americans, providing jobs for Americans. Not made in a Chinese sweatshop and sold for a huge markup ripoff like the other brand sellout.
