First impressions count. And when removing this from the box I could tell this was not housed in some cheap bit of plastic that will last about a week. It felt like a quality item from the start. The cable is thicker than it needs to be, it is actually thicker than the cable used in vehicles - but that's just an observation. The switches are firm. This is good because there is a risk that something could rest against the unit and press against the switches and turn things off, and I doubt that will happen with this unit. Being an Engineer, I like to know what's inside things - so I took it apart. There is a thermal fuse that will cut out if it gets hot, and resets when it cools down. The USB sockets are powered by one single 5V power supply - there is no mention of how much current this can provide, so you maybe limited on charging times depending on how many phones etc. are attached. It comes with two spare 15A small fuses. It doesn't mention this anywhere on the packaging, but the fuse is located on the rear of the case under a small slider with ridges on. In the car I like the fact it shows the car battery voltage. I'm not particularly worried about the voltage, but what I like about that is it is very easy to see if it is actually plugged in and working, rather than have a tiny dim LED which you wont see when its sunny. I've tried plugging in a dash cam and my Sat Nav and both work fine from this. I haven't tried charging my phone yet. Would I buy this again if anything happened to it? definitely.

Only coming back now as I believe i’ve damaged the cable and it’s temperamental so could do with a refresh! I bought this in March 2022 and have driven more than most since then and it’s been perfect until about 2 weeks ago when cables in the cubby it’s stored in were pulled around and it began to have intermittent faults when the wire was moved. Overall would recommend, the only downside is I don’t think you can switch off the 2 USB ports on the top and if you can there are no clear lights to indicate that’s what’s wrong!

I bought this YEARS ago. At least 3 years ago maybe 4. Still working great! Used for my kids dvd players, phone charger, and headphones charger. Works wonderfully and charges pretty fast. You can turn the power off to plugs not in use or not needed. USB ports hold the cord well. It’s about the size of my palm so not too big. Definitely recommend in the car!
