Hi Brandon, Thank you so much for reaching out with your question. Our Snowball Ice microphone does use a capsule that wants to record what's going on around it. This is how it captures your voice in the ideal way to be recorded. With this, we do suggest that you use the microphone in either a sound treated room or a room without a lot of background noise. Should you require the use of your microphone in the room you've been recording in, we do have a Ringer shockmount and a Pop Filter that you may purchase to cut down on the ambient noise. If you feel that the background noise being picked up is more than a shockmount or filter can cut out, I suggest you contact our Support Team at support@bluemic.com for assistance in troubleshooting the issue.
