Use a 1080p Amp without loosing 4K output to the monitor from PC.
Manufacturers cost cutting is leaving many techy pc/audiophiles without the sound/picture options they're used to. I have a perfectly good 2000W 11channel Amplifier for my man cave sound system. Amongst its many inputs/outputs are HDMI. Unfortunately the amp predates 4K resolution. So my PC, PS5 and other devices cannot use HDMI through the Amp as the Video signal is unrecognized. This didn't use to be a problem as devices had multiple output options eg, hdmi, SPDIF, Analogue multichannel, DVI and so on. However, my latest top end PC does not have SPDIF out so I have no choice but to use HDMI - on a top of the range motherboard too!- in order to have sound.Using the matrix switcher I can send the 4k picture and sound from PC and PS5 over hdmi to the switcher. The switcher then sends the 4k picture to the monitor and the multichannel sound to the amp. It was a very simple plug and play type setup. Instructions give the impression of not being good but actually it is that simple to setup the switcher that the small piece of paper with instructions is all you need. Literally just a few seconds. The remote works fine as do the buttons on the device itself.Very pleased with the functionality. Haven't had any issues and all works perfectly in 4k 3D 7.1 sound.

Had to replace power adapter
Bought this mainly to have two inputs (Chromecast and ps4) go to one projector and split the sound to speakers. It came with a US power adapter rated at 1A so i used a different 1A UK power adapter that I had already.Worked fine at first with the Chromecast and i could switch inputs with push of a button. On the PlayStation, however, occasionally the audio and video would drop for a second or two. I replaced the power adapter with a new 2A one, since the instruction booklet mentioned 2A. This seems to have fixed the problem. Now i am very happy with the device, which does it's job and the audio and video quality seem to me as if it wasn't there. Just very disappointing that it doesn't come with the right power adapter and i had to purchase one separately.

Two ins, two outs, simultaneous display and hot swappable.
Will display 2 consoles on 2 TVs and allows switching of one to the other by remote. Perfect for the job. Would be amazing to have a stick on template for the remote so you can identify the ins and outs more easily. I made one with a sticky label and a craft knife, but you could use tippex, or correction tape. Nice little metal package, feels sturdy, and has manual switches on the front for when the kids lose the remote :)

HDMI splitter/extender
Used this to connect my Xbox to a monitor and my TV in my man cave. Took a while to figure out how to get it working but once I got my head around how the input signals worked, it worked perfectly. Make sure you use decent HDMI cables with it though.

Does not work.
I bought new high speed HDMI cables thinking the problem was that. However, still doesn't work.Tried 1 input to 1 output in every combination. Still doesn't work.Returned as faulty.

An Excellent Piece of Kit
Simple to set up, easy to use. The input and output ports (2 of each) are clearly marked. The NewBEP Matrix Switcher is a versatile little piece of kit. For me, its most useful feature is resolution auto scaling, which automatically downscales 4K video source files to 1080p for my Panasonic Viera TV (which has a maximum resolution of 1080p). There are other ways of getting around this issue with 4K files (namely using Cyberlink PowerDirector to create 1080p files from the original source 4K files). But that's a time-consuming task, converting one file at a time. Thanks to this little NewBEP device, it's a task I no longer need to do. The matrix switcher's ability to auto reduce 4K to 1080p is the only resolution downscaling it supports. (In other words, if you're looking for a switcher that can reduce 8K to 4K, or 4K to 720p, etc., look elsewhere.)This matrix switcher has a host of other useful functions such as the ability to transmit one source video (with audio) to two output channels (such as televisions). It has two input ports and two outputs, which allow every possible combination (1-1, 2-2, 1-2, 2-1). The device has built-in automatic equalisation and amplification to ensure the best transmission without losing video or audio quality. It supports HDMI 2.0b, HDCP 2.2, HDR, RGB:8:8:8, 3D video, 8/10/12/24/32-bit colour, and a variety of sound standards including Dolby/DTS 5.1.An excellent piece of kit that's well worth the money.

Works well.
The product image is a bit misleading. It looks like it's two units that stack on each other. It's not. Just one small unit with a remote and USB cable. That said, it works great. Connects up very easily and the remote is responsive. Good set.
