soft, 100% cotton, non-binding ankle, and don't break my feet out or make them itch! Because of their redeeming qualities I gave 5 stars but the first set I bought was really big (but because they seem to be the last of the 100% cotton socks - plus I loved the Buster Brown shoe store as a child in Boise - I figured I could live with that) I bought a 2nd set - they are only a little large but so extremely soothing to my feet. I absolutely love how they feel. I have a women size 8 wide foot and seem to be allergic now to a variety of materials including nylon and elastic. Thank you Buster Brown for still making an all cotton sock! I would have to double check but I think the 1st ones I got the size I normally wear and the heel came up my ankle so I went smaller on the 2nd set. I thought if I washed in hot water and dried on extra hot the 1st set would shrink - if they did it wasn't noticeable. Hope this helps someone else who's also having trouble with allergic reactions. (I do wish someone was making a heavier winter weight 100% cotton sock but haven't found any).

I'm 65.now and have spider/vericois veins in my lower legs which cause me a lot of pain if I wear socks with elastic that are tight. I also prefer 100%cotton for all my clothes, sheets and anything that touches my skin. The 1's I bought are size 9, but when came the label on plastic bag of socks shows Medium as size. I wear a size 8 shoe and these are a little big for me in length, but I don't care. I can stretch put the area of the ankle after washing and then they don't hurt my ankles/lower legs. They are a pretty good quality cotton and not super thin or cheap. Seem well made. I just bought, been wearing about a week and really grateful they still make these. Thanks Buster Brown and Amazon for carrying them.

I'm sorry I made this purchase, so not recommend this product. Sorry, paper thin at best, very flimsy and stretched out, far too large although i ordered my size. These are not the same cotton socks from my childhood days. Not even close. Unfortunately, I've been ill and have recently moved, so I didn't get back here in time to ask for a refund. I can't even wear them, because they fall right down into my shoes/ boots, get bunched up under my feet and cause even more neuropathic pain than I already had. Bad, bad experience.

I ordered a medium, I wear a sizse 8 shoe, don't have huge legs or ankles, and these socks look freakin' huge. I tried them on - they are very loose and there is no elastic in these, they are 100% cotton which is exactly what I was looking for and I remembered they will prob shrink which is fine. I plan on only wearing them to bed after lotioning up my feet. They are fine for the purpose for which I purchased them.* the pic below is a pic of the sock before, and after I wore them for 1/2 day, including during the night. I almost lost the right sock in the covers overnigh, they were so loose. I'm really hoping these will shrink.

I ordered size medium for these socks, and I wear size 9 1/2 in women's shoes. They were far too large! So I ordered a set of size Small, and they fit fine. The socks are smooth and lightweight. They are what I wanted. I just had to buy the smallest size available to fit my rather large feet.Update- after wearing the socks for several weeks, they became very loose and baggy and can only be reasonably worn as bed socks. Since this is the smallest size available, I would consider them unacceptable. I lowered my score to 1 star.

Needed 100% cotton socks to sleep in while medicating my feet. I wear women’s size 6 shoe so I bought “small”. They are HUGE. Fabric only touched my feet on the bottom (because I was standing in them!) because they were so big and the cuff.... same thing. So I washed them in hot water to shrink them. They did not shrink at all. Waste of money. Zero stars is not an option.

I ordered despite the other reviews stating that the socks ran big. I ordered the small, when they arrived I was disappointed but washed and dried them, hoping they would shrink. They did shrink a little but the foot part is baggy, not the fit I was looking for, I wear a 6-7 in women's shoes. I will wear these with house slippers etc, but not with my penny loafers.

I wear a size 9.5 wide shoe, and the medium is still too huge. They stretch out so much in an hour or so that they don't even fit in a shoe. At least they are cotton anyway. I was going to try the small, but I'm sure they would be too big as well. The picture is one sock that I wore for a few hours and one after it came out of the wash.
