As a professional painter this stuff
As a professional painter this stuff Is next to non with painting aluminum. Be prepared to use a lot more product when rolling and brushing versus spraying with a gravity/hvlp sprayer. I use this regularly for aluminum projects. The trick is many thin coats. Youโll regret promptly trying to rush it with heavies. I recently painted my pop up camper outside of many other jobs I used it. Prepare the surface; I tend to power wash - with a tornado head - the surface with a pre soak of a healthy amount of tsp. Check out the photos! Came out great I prepped the surface with a heavy solution of tsp, sanding in some areas, removing all stickers and vinyls ( because the product wonโt adhere to glossy plastic finishes) I primed all rust with a specific rust primer I primed the entire aluminum surface lightly with with stix primer (the tan color) for better bonding as there were other substrates outside of aluminum. Painted her up and havenโt had any issues yet. Looks great! Iโve since passed the camper on to a group of young guys traveling out to Colorado to do a road trip skying and snowboarding. The camper is going strong the product is holding up phenomenally!

Perfect Paint for aluminum pool ladder
Paint made all the difference and prevented further damage. I went cheap and bought an aluminum deck to above ground pool ladder which started to corrode. Power washed the calcium deposits, sanded the pitted ladder and painted grey with this TotalBoat Aluminum Boat Paint. For the most part it prevented further calcium deposits and pitting on the ladder. After the season I'll put another coat on. It's a little pricey but chlorine didn't peel the paint off. Exactly what I was looking for. I would note that you should sand so the paint has something to adhere to.

Use a self etching primer with this product.
This is an expensive paint that says that it does not need a separate primer. I used this, per the instructions, on a bare aluminum boat. Every things that makes contact with the paint, exposes the underlying aluminum. Next time I would use a self etching primer. The paint does cover well with a brush and does not leave brush marks/lines and it covers a lot of surface area. I was able to apply three coats over the entire inside of a 14' aluminum boat. Just not sure how well it is going to hold up to use.

Excellent result
Product worked great on my Alumacraft TS-14 boat. Followed directions and used three base coats and then a final coat the next day. Worked best with the "roll and tip" technique where I rolled the product in about 2 foot sections and the wife followed with just the tip of a 4 inch paint brush to smooth the surface thus eliminating the orange peel finish caused by the roller. As others have noted the roll and tip technique requires multiple thin "build" coats and a final coat. A little paint goes a long way so keep the coats thin. Very happy with the product and the final result. Durability is to be determined but the 25 year old boat looks like new.

A very smooth finish with a brush
I sanded down 18 years of water deposits and algae growth on my 20 ft pontoon boat - then applied 3 coats of this marine paint on both pontoons and the splitter. Very easy to apply and it stayed wet just long enough for all the brush marks to smooth out - the boat looked like new. Good coverage - used 3 quarts of the 4 I ordered. After sitting in the lake for a month or so - I can see some algae growing on the pontoons - but it fairly easy to wipe off at this point.
