It was my first time trying this 16 gauge poly string. I am a 3.5 USTA player and used it as crosses in a hybrid setup with Hawk Touch 17 mains. It has great control, feel, power and playability. I love it! FYI, I had previously used Techifibre NRG 16 crosses, and I noticed these Luxilon ALU strings are more arm friendly.

Great for advanced players who are looking for good spin and power

Pros: nice black finishing, provides good power/spin and control while providing good durability. Cons: not the best string for your elbow; also not great to hold the tension. Overall, still my favorite ALU string.

I've been using the Luxilon Big Banger ALU 125 Power over the last 5 years. I'm also aware of counterfeit strings and other name brand items found online. I've bought several individual String sets from a reputable dealer, a Reel of the Silver on Ebay from a reputable seller and then this Reel of the Black here on Amazon from Wilson (Note: I couldn't find the Luxilon brand name printing on the strings but likely because they are black). I'm always skeptical of lower prices on name brand items so I extensively researched all of these. That being said I believe these are legitimate Luxilon strings. I can't say 100% for sure but I can't tell the difference between all the ones I've purchased. It's possible a counterfeit version can slip through the cracks but just wanted to give my opinion about these strings. I purchased them back in 2024 and have strung up at least 10-12 rackets with this in the full bed and they played just great. I also looked at them under a basic digital microscope and measured the thickness (all measuring within 1.24 to 1.26). The 3 strings under the microscope are Top (Individual String pack from Reputable Dealer), Middle (Silver Reel off Ebay in 2022) and the Bottom (Black Reel from this listing back in 2024). You can make up your own mind and do the research but just wanted to post this if it helps anyone else.

Good and cheap

This product was delivered quickly and with a beautiful personal note from the supplier. Greatly appreciate the service! This string is perfect for the advanced player looking for high control when swinging hard and when looking for touch. I switched from a pentagonal poly that provided great grip but was sorely lacking in the power department. I will say that while I feel that I am no longer losing any power due to the string, I have gotten some arm soreness that I have to make sure I have a shock absorber on the racquet for.
