A.M. Leonard Forged Steel Round Point Shovel, 51 Inch Ash Handle

This shovel is one solid tool. The forging is well shaped and very robust and the handle is well shaped and finished. The solid construction does come with the cost of additional weight. If I were on a trail crew and had to carry a shovel to the worksite I would not choose this one. However it is perfect for carrying in my truck where the extra weight goes unnoticed but the sturdy construction is appreciated. A great shovel, much better than what is typically available at the big box retailers!

I was looking for a shovel like I my father owned...heavy-duty, thick steel, and almost impossible to break. I searched a while and finally found the A.M. Leonard shovel. It has everything I was looking for! Thick 12-gauge steel will not bend like some of the cheaper shovels I have used. The ash handle has a great grain pattern and is very stout. This shovel will most likely outlive me. Like other reviewer have stated, it is a heavy shovel, but if you are doing lots of garden work this will be your tool of choice.

Good quality shovel

Wanted a shovel that wouldn't snap[ on me as my last two cheap ones did so I research high-quality shovels and found AM Leonard. Exactly what I wanted. Pricey but will last a LONG time

Very sturdy. Handle came with a bit of a skew to the left. Some of us favor right. Could be cosmic balance. Regardless if you need a shovel that won’t fail; and don’t mind the weight, then this is your shovel. 5/5 would recommend. Also don’t forget to scrape the lacquer off and oil accordingly.

Excellent shovel, well constructed, heavy duty, I am sure it will outlive me. But it is too heavy for me. I wish I had returned it and exchanged it for a lighter one. It is too much for my job which is removing weeds from the garden. From the description, I did not appreciate its weight (or I did not pay attention!)

I went down a rabbit hole on youtube one night and learned about a bunch of different types of shovels. Forged steel shovels such as this one are known to be extremely durable, and this product does not disappoint. Excited to own this one for awhile.

Best built shovel I ever owned-will be around long after I am gone! Great for digging in hard material but too heavy for scooping light material. This is a heavy duty tool!
