Excellent utility knife! The blade stays sharp thanks to the self-sharpening sheath, and it cuts smoothly and precisely. Comfortable to hold and great for everyday kitchen tasks.

This chopping knife is very comfortable to use when chopping salads etc. Very pleased with it indeed and good that it has its own protective cover which helps to keep it sharp too. Would recommend this product for cooks.

Excellent carving knife with stay sharp facility ideal all rounder

I've not been using this long enough yet, but it seems very good. The blade is a bit short in my view. I'm really not sure about this self sharpening feature. That sort of thing is usually a gimmick that doesn't work for long. It does what it's intented to do, but at this price you don't get professional quality. Time will tell.

To those that rate it poorly saying Sabatier should be higher quality or it's gone rusty. 1st of all learn how to look after knives, you should always wash a knife as soon as you finish with it and always towel dry it immediately. Sabatier is not owned by the same people that used to make quality knives or you would be paying 5 - 10 times what you're paying for this knife. For the price it is excellent. Steel quality obviously isn't great but you aren't buying this knife for great steel, you're buying it because it's cheap. So reflect that in your rating. I 100% would recommend this knife as long as you take care of it, it'll last years.

If you want decent kitchen knives that deliver superior cutting quality you can't go past Sabatier. This knife slices easily through onions, tomatoes and anything else you put under it. Always clean it separately and never put it in the dishwasher. The self sharpening mechanism works brilliantly to always keep my knife sharp.
