Let's Go Cat
I recently read a book called "Rocket In My Pocket," about the Rockabilly craze during the mid to late fifties. The author was English where Rockabilly is still going strong over in England. When I came across this series of different labels and what they offered to this genre, I couldn't wait to give a listen. The reason the series is so moderately priced is that the publishing rights have expired, therefor no royalties to pay. The craze started with Elvis and his Sun recordings. With the Elvis histeria going on, every label wanted to jump on the bandwagon and get a piece of the Rocabilly pie. This was a time when labels would basically record anything and see what would stick. I purchased five in this series and not one is a dud. The sound quality is great, considering that this was the fifties, and some of this material was recorded in some of the most sparse studios at the time. They did skimp on the liner notes, but for this price not a problem. I am going to buy the rest in series and enjoy. I remember a time when music in this country was identified by the sound, like the New Orleans sound, or the Chicago sound, or Motown, and Memphis sound. Today's music is so homonginized, it has no soul. As Elvis said on one of his Sun recordings "Milk Cow Blues, Hold if fellas, that song don't move me, lets get real gone for a change." I'm gone and I ain't coming back.

Capitol Rockabilly --- Cool!
This is one of the labels that you just don't see many current releases of their classic rockabilly tunes -- to me quite enjoyable.

You can't beat this bargain
This is an amazing snapshot of a record label (as each of these collections is) in the days just before the Beatles came and changed music forever. While there is some chaff here, by and large these are hits and regional favorites that have been remastered using masters of remarkable clarity and purity. If you are a fan of this time period in music, then you will love these collections. I've purchased several and have more in my cart. The quality and price can't be beat.

Cracking Rockabilly Mix
I've collected all the Essential Rockabilly compilations and they are all great quality with a cracking mix on each. The Capitol Story has to be the pick of a good bunch. Give this a listen to especially if you're into Gene Vincent, Wanda Jackson etc you won't be disappointed.
