Q: do the sides over/ collapse when you don't want them to?

When filled with water it would be physically impossible for the walls to collapse. They have rigid boards in them unlike the blow up type pools.

Q: Can I use this as a sand box for my 7 year old?

I would not. Sides are to soft. And to thin for any sharp objects. Works great for our 3 pugs. They love the pool

Q: How many gallons of water does it hold?

Enough. I'm 6 ft 1 and my dog, small lab and I both had room and water to play in. Just don't leave the water in for extended period of time

Q: Anyone have a phone number for a replacement plug?

We glued a Gatorade cap in place. Worked great
