Hotone Wah Active Volume Passive Expression Guitar Effects Pedal Switchable Soul Press II 4 in 1 with Visible Guitar Effects Pedal

This is a very nicely made pedal. The wah function sounds very good and has tone and width adjustments to dial it in to your needs. My only complaint is when in volume mode, the volume jumps very quickly from zero. I wish this was a smoother transition for making smooth volume swells. I imagine I'll get more used to that with practice over time. But otherwise this seems to be the best thing out there to cover the need for a volume pedal, wah pedal, and expression pedal all in one for a very reasonable price.

I would actually give this pedal a 4.7 tyo 4.8 star review if the system would allow the decimals.I have been playing guitar for half a century and have used and owned several different brands and models, mostly crybaby and a variety of Morly wah pedals, with a Snarling Dogs pedal from England thrown in for good measure, because it is the brand Jeff Beck Used.With that said, this Hotone is over all the best. It is well made, compact, so ot fits nicely on my pedal board offers wah, volume and expression which all work very well, is a beautiful metalflake blue, is quiet and I like the LED feature which shows the volume level. I have used this pedal constantly over the last few days and it works equally as well for bass as guitar, however I cannot speak about it's durability, as I have a Hotone bass press pedal which was passable at best and did not last very long.

Maybe it's too soon to say but so far, I love this pedal. The Wah sound is perfect for me and the expression mode has better control than my Dunlop Volume X8. The volume sweep is a little fast, but it works for me. I just love that I can switch from volume to Wah with one click. Some say this pedal is not very durable however, so I'll have to see if it lasts.

I'm a big wah fan and own a number of both modern and vintage wah pedals. I can confidently say that this wah really delivers. Lots of options and range, minimal signal loss when bypassed and surprisingly excellent sweep. Its on my gigging board.

Overall, this is built really well, and feels like a much more expensive unit. I also love the ability to dial in tone for the wah. The big issue is that there is a dead zone of movement when heal down. I improved it by taping a quarter under the plate to not allow as much movement. With that said, in volume mode, it ramps up in volume way to quick, and doesn’t feel like it has as much dynamic range as other volume pedals. After playing a few gigs, I’ve got the feel down for it and it isn’t that big a deal anymore, but it is touchy when going from heal to toe for volume.Also - the expression port is awesome. Works perfect with my HX Stomp.Overall though, for the price, size, and quality, I quite like this unit.

Great pedal. I really needed a volume pedal, and found most of them to be a bit expensive. I saw this one at a decent price, and it had a Wah feature as well.I found that it works great. I love that the size and weight are a welcome replacement for my Cry Baby, and I've consolidated all of my pedals to a smaller board.

Too soon to know about durability. Out of the box it performed as promised. For the cost, I think it's a bargain.And the tip-while in the Wah/Volume mode, I had difficulty switching between the two options using a toe press. The problem turned out to be that I had the pedal on a thick carpet. Putting a scrap board under the pedal gave the resistance needed to smoothly transition.

This pedal its awesome till it start with noise in high frecuence when you put down the pedal. As wah pedal, its a very good expression pedal. I dont recomend it... Its so sad cuz it had a really good sound. But you cant fix that... Its imposible, and a waste of money, but you can still use it like a volume/expression pedal. But its not what we spect of this... So sad. Actualization 2025; i havent spent a lot of time on it, but i had to buy an other exp pedal cuz it is broken, dont works, wah and exp fail, i dont recomend this product, so so sad-bad.

It's probably be most versatile volume (or wah, or expression pedal) on the market but without compromises on sound quality.The most recurrent criticism I heard about this pedals is the somehow uneven volume curve. Apparently, according to some critics, the volume changes very suddenly at a certain point at the beginning of the heel to toe movement.I don't know if Hotone listened to the criticism and tweaked the pedal slightly or for some other reason, but it's definitely not the case with the unit I have. The volume increases very smoothly and there are no points of discontinuity.Having said that, if one places the volume before a distortion pedal, uneven volume increases are bound to happen. This has nothing to do with the volume pedal. It's the nature of how a distortion pedals responds to variations of input signals.There are two choices:- volume before distortion. Result: slightly uneven volume signal but the distortion level can be controlled by the volume.- volume after distortion. Result: very smooth volume control but the distortion level stays the same.Regarding the wah pedal, I managed to find a few sounds that I like thanks to the 'tone' and 'Q' control. Changing the position of the pedal (before or after the distortion) will obviously effect how the wah sounds.The construction is solid without being excessively heavy, it is small and the LEDs on the left side are a nice touch.Recommend.
