Very nice binoculars
Had a chance to go to a Cabela's store and check these out versus the Vortex, the Swarovskis and Leica. The vortex binoculars didn't belong on the same shelf with the others and the Leica had a very nice focus mechanism. But the Swarovskis and Zeiss binoculars had better image quality and the Zeiss were half the price at just $699.Very happy I was able to try them out first.

Kind of pricey but good glass
Bright and clear glass. Would prefer eye caps for easier usage. Have to say the lens covers are junk.

Severe flaw in eye cups hinge render these unusable until Zeiss repaired
Bought these Aug 2023 and reviewed Oct 1st 2024. These binoculars are not for serious birding. If you use binoculars more than once a month, go elsewhere as these just don't stand up to wear. I began noticing I couldn't get my eye cups even. I do not wear glasses so I was screwing the little eye cup up to try to get even with the right eye cup and it constantly popped off. Furthermore the eye cups become uneven just carrying them around. So you see a great bird, you want to pull the binoculars up but your eye cups are uneven --you try to adjust the eye cup boom the eye cup pops off and the bird is gone. This is a constant struggle. Have played with it tried to over tighten the one I cut because you then have to screw it the opposite way to get it to come up. Absolutely ridiculous engineering. I am also having trouble with the hinge there is no tightness in the hinge if I hold one barrel of the binocular it just simply flops Loosely back and forth very frustrating to deal with both of these problems. I have had these just over a year. Would expect better for this much money.UPDATE 10/9/2024: Right after leaving my review after a year of use I decided to send these off to Zeiss. Within a week and a half they had returned them with a personalized note explaining that the eye cups were an older version and they were replaced with a newer improved version which feel much better. They fixed the hinge all at no cost. Great customer service. Hopefully these refurbished Binos will last a bit longer. The glass is great.
