Acne Fighting Putty Primer

Good product, I haven't had a blemish at all since using this on my nose, forehead and cheeks. It covers my pores well and keeps my skin looking smooth throughout the day. I love E.L.F. products and would recommend them to anyone, including men!!!

So I still use it in my daily regimen because it really does feel like it’s moisturizing. And I’ve had less breakouts since using it. It’s light feeling once you let it absorb on your skin and you don’t feel cakey or pasted on. It’s unnoticeable whether you use ONLY this and no make up on top while still hiding your pores and redness or whether you put makeup on. My only complaint which isn’t really the suppliers fault is a lot of people claiming it to help pock marks and scars as well. (Mind you mine are not very large, deep, or that noticeable) but I’m self conscious of them and feel like they are more noticeable with foundation on. I’d hoped this would help, as with all the “elf hacks” videos from other users claiming it vanishes these scars and dips(pock marks), and also an old piercing scar(that I have). it sadly does not. I’m only noting this for other potential buyers :) If you use too much of this product it leaves a weird streaky ugliness under the foundation you have to completely remove all makeup and product off your face and use way less. So use sparingly and slowly add more. Also to cover pores apply with fingers in a circular motion. The sponges and brushes absorb all product and leave streaky residue and do not fill pores. So use clean fingers. Overall it’s a great product and does what it claims too and helps with pores. Not heavy/ cakey, greasy or gross and no unpleasant smell. I love the fact that I’ve had next to NO breakouts using this as well.

This is my holy grail makeup product. It is the ONLY thing that has successfully stopped makeup from clogging my pores and causing breakouts. It is easy to use, the pigment is buildable, and underneath a liquid foundation, it is a dream. I hope they never change the formula or style of this. As a note: This doesn’t have nearly the same grip power as the other famous Elf primer. It isn’t the longest-wear without a good foundation/powder/setting spray combo. I use this for everything from no-makeup days to long distance runs in the heat and have no problem. I have only had problems when trying to use this with a super matte, total-coverage foundation.

Personally, it’s not for me because it makes my skin look so oily when it already naturally is. Also, acne-fighting? Maybe my acne is just too terrible because it doesn’t help at all, my acne has continued to be the same even from wearing this. But, it does smoothen your makeup SO WELL and SO MUCH. I love how it feels too, very creamy and cold and gives comfort knowing your pores are shielded. For it’s price? 8/10

As someone with very oily skin, I was really hopeful that this would workout. It didn’t contribute to any breakouts which is really nice, but it definitely didn’t help with the oiliness or to help keep my makeup on.

I have acne, very oily skin and I sweet a lot. This is my 3rd buy. I love this. I lay on my oil free moisturizer then my primer to keep my makeup in place.

Tones down redness and preps skin for a smooth foundation application.

I’ve purchased this 3 times now and will definitely continue to do so! I enjoy the texture. There’s a nice, slippery consistency to it due to the silicones which create a smooth base for makeup. I have combination to oily, acne-prone skin and I’ve found that it creates a surprisingly glowy base for your makeup. If you have very oily skin, you might not like that. I do find it quite easy to blot excess oils away without disturbing my makeup - the primer does a really fantastic job at gripping the makeup in place without looking cakey. The green doesn’t do much in the way of color correction but the 1.8% salicylic acid is very effective at treating my skin over time. Personally, when I use this regularly, I experience less redness since I get noticeably less breakouts. Overall, super happy with this product!

It did help my skin look softer and smoother, and it might’ve helped with any minor breakouts. Goes on clear. No green tint. I use it under tinted mineral sunscreen, so I’m sure it can only do so much…Cystic acne didn’t change, but no primer is going to solve mess that anyhow, lol. (Cystic acne hates all sunscreen, but that a me problem) I say try it. It’s not pricy and you might see an improvement in your skin texture.
