Dictionary is well done and appeals to kids as they are many illustrations and photos.

This is a fantastic book. It is not like a traditional dictionary - organized strictly from Asteroids to Zaphod Beeblebrox - instead it is broken into smaller subjects with an introduction followed by some vocabulary words listed in alphabetical order. And, actually, it is more like an encyclopedia than a dictionary because each entry provides context about the word being defined.I waffled between four stars and five stars only because the book is a little advanced for my first grader (despite the fact that she is super-smart), but I realized that the book isn't even marketed towards her age group - it is advertised for 3rd through 6th graders - so that didn't seem like a fair basis for a down-graded review. And about that age group, I think the top end of the age bracket for which the book is recommended is a little low because I find the book really interesting and I am quite a bit older than a sixth grader.

LOVE this book. I'm using it now for my 4-year-old as an occasional reference, but I can see her reading it for years to come. I've certainly enjoyed it! Now on my go-to list for gifts!

My daughter loves anything regarding space. I was looking for a book about space that wasn't too overwhelming to understand. The way this book has the information laid out, is not like a regular dictionary. The book is separated into different sections. It has pictures and some interesting information in boxes in the pages of the book, so it's not just words and definitions. Even as an adult I found the information fascinating.

I got this for my 7 year old and he is so happy with it takes everywhere. I was concerned by the level on reading in it but his teacher said he understands it all and is now at a 5th grade reading level

I now know a lot more about the universe, quantum theory, and my son, because he keeps reading out of this book to me. Or just spewing out facts he's learned. It's great! Make him stop talking please!

This is a great resource for an aspiring astronomer. My son had loved this book since age 4, and still loves it 3 years later. Great explanations and very age appropriate!.
