Great "little" bag! They weren't kidding, it holds everything!
Most of the reviews here are for the larger bag, but this is specifically for the smaller LIGHT DUTY bag. I didn't want to have to lug around something the size of a gym bag, and the larger bag looked TOO large for my needs, and too awkward for me to carry once full. Something more compact and easy to carry was important to me. With that in mind, the bag must also be able to easily hold two handguns, plus all the ammo and accessories that I would need for them at the range. I wanted to easily be able to find whatever item I needed, so organization was a huge plus. I didn't want it to have gun brand logos on the exterior. And, it would have to be able to lock. Let me tell you what I was able to put into this bag, with room to spare. One subcompact pistol One J frame revolver 400 rounds of 9mm and .38 spec. ammo Ear muffs Safety Glasses Three magazines (there are slots for 10, but I only have 3) Two speedloaders 3 extra mag springs 2 sets of snap caps Small flashlight I could have put my ear and eye protection in the side pockets and easily put another 200 rounds of ammo or another handgun in the center space. This bag makes me feel like I need more stuff! The zipper pulls are all coated metal, as are the clips for the shoulder strap. The bag is heavy duty! Every single zipper has a locking ring. All but one are double zippers, so you can use small padlocks to secure all but one of the zippered spaces. The main storage compartment comes with two adjustable dividers that are held in place where you want them by velcro. Each pistol pouch is large enough to comfortably fit a small to mid sized handgun. They're held into the base of the outer pocket by velcro. I do wish there was a closure snap or velcro to hold the pouches closed and the firearm in place, but it's a small concession. Every pocket, every pouch, is padded! No gear rubbing or banging against each other. A place for everything. The only branding on the bag is in the center pocket interior flap. Nothing anywhere on the exterior that could indicate what the contents might be. Bottom line, this bag gives much more expensive range bags a run for the money. It's well made, inexpensive, looks good, and with a lifetime guarantee, how can you go wrong?

Great Bag! Outstanding Customer Service!
Pro's Lots of room! - You can get EVERYTHING you need in it plus more. Plenty of useful pockets - All pockets are of a size where your hands can fit into them with ease. Gun pouch inserts. The sides have pouches for your guns. They are thick padded and best of all, removable so you can use them in ANY area of the bag. Side pouches are set up in a way where load balancing is not an issue. The bag has a solid base with 4 feet. This builds it's durability as well as protecting the bottom of the bag from wearing. The sides of the bag open up wide allowing you better access to the insides. Each zipper is lockable. A nice feature just in case. Material is thick and protective. The dividers in the main compartment are padded and also removable. These work great when at the range and you want pads for laying your gear on the bench. Comfortable strap Here is the best part of this bag (IMHO)!!! The company your are buying from, Osage River LLC, is one of the best sellers I have had to opportunity to work with. The key words are "WORK WIITH". A small issue was found with my bag and I quickly notified the company. Not only did I receive an email that same day, A regional manager from Osage's customer service department called me directly that evening. If any of you have had to deal with a seller who is quite adept for pass-the-buck tactics, ignoring a customer issues/concerns or just flat out rude, then you know what a pleasure it is having all of your concerns addressed in a professional manner. I have a great deal of respect for this company. Their integrity is a high priority for them. When purchasing this item, you can be assured that the company will stand behind their products. I have purchased many gun bags and purchasing this one hit on what I was looking for. A bag worthy of what I need it for and a company that will back it !!! I would purchase this one again!!! In case you are wondering...No, I am NOT an employee or have any affiliation with Osage other than being one of their satisfied customers. Con's Could use just 2 smaller pockets on the outside for your smaller tools. The zippers have elastic string at the end instead of pull tabs.

WOW!
I was looking for a range bag that didn't fit the entire national guard armoury and this is it. Roomy enough for all my gear and then some. Using my pictures, first is the whole bag. It's very sturdy, well constructed a definite 'grab and go' There are two compartments like the one in photo 2 which shows the front zipped open with a padded 'pocket' for your gun so it isn't just flopping around loose like a lot of the other bags I looked at. There is plenty of storage for extra mags along the back and there is another compartment just like this for a second gun on the back side. The interior of the main bag has several padded dividers that can be velcroed in either vertically or horizontally to make more compartments. Photos 3 & 4 show the ends which each have a compartment which I use to carry boxed amo, as well as an open pocket for a phone or papers and the other has a zippered pocket for ID and such. The dual zippers on all the storage areas, see photo 5, are sturdy and are lockable. This is a great bag. It comes in 2 sizes and a good array of colors. I got the smaller bag in gunmetal color. The bag is very well made feels 'sturdy' but is not heavy at all. I'm a retired woman (nice way of saying I'm old) so I didn't want a bag that weighed more than my gear. I just can't say enough good about it!

Great bag for the price, with a few nitpicks
I got the smaller bag and am reviewing that. I am 99% happy with this bag and want to share the great, as well as the few small things to be aware of if you are looking at this bag. I am including pictures so that you have all the information you need, especially if trying to decide if this smaller bag is going to be big enough for you or will work for your needs, and if items you already own will fit or work with it. Inside I have placed the my Howard Leight by Honeywell Impact Sport ear muffs inside their case, as well as my sharpshooter glasses by Honeywell (the interchangeable ones with 3 lenses that come with a case) in their case. 2 boxes of 50 rounds of ammo (Basic Winchester white box, as I figure most people are familiar with this size box) and a small box of Hornady Critical defense. I could probably fit more but likely would never really need to. Both outside pockets of this bag have magazine holders and if I am carrying more than 100 extra rounds I will likely bring an ammo can, not load down my range bag. in the outside pocket I have placed my US Peacekeeper pistol case in a size medium which is holding my Glock 19. It is a perfect snug fit in that pocket and nothing else would really fit in there with it. You could not use the mag holders in this pocket AND use it to store this pistol case, though you could probably use the little pistol pocket deal that came with the bag to put your firearm in and still use the mag holders....I did NOT feel comfortable doing this, but I am picky. I did not want my firearm moving around or bumping into things, or.....just, ANYTHING. That is a ME thing. Your comfort level with that may vary. I took out all the dividers in this bag. They all Velcro in and I just didn't need them or see the point of them in a bag this size. It is great size bag and fits everything you need for the range. Here are my small gripes. The moment I opened it there were chips in the coating on the zipper pulls. This does not affect the function of the bag, but it is irritating to pay for something and have it show up with damage. The coating is super flaky and your zipper pulls will not remain black. The bigger issue is the hooks for the shoulder strap. I wear my range bag cross body, same as my purse. Why? Many reasons. I like to have my hands free in case I need them, generally I am going to have keys in one hand if I am on the way to the car so I need the other hand free for self defense or for any other thing that might come up. I also like purses and range bags ON my body....for the same reason you wear a conceal carry firearm ON body. You never want someone else to access your firearm. Bag snatchings happen. I am 5'2 and a relatively small woman. I am not going to make myself an even easier bag snatch target by walking out of a gun range with my gun bag in my hand where it can be easily ripped away. Much harder to get it if I have it cross body. Then you have to fight me for it....and you will be giving me time to show you why I train at the range in the first place. I digress.....These hooks are flimsy. I feel like a good hard yank and they are going to bend/be rendered useless. I wish they were a little more substantial. I may grab a couple of climbing carabiners and reinforce for my own peace of mind. All in all, this is a great bag with just a few very small issues that I can deal with. It also does not scream Gun Bag! On the front, which I also like. That might be great for some people, but I don't want my camera bag to say Cannon on it and advertise that I have $5k worth of gear in my bag....and I don't want my range bag to say Glock on it and advertise that I am carrying and whatever else people perceive when they see it. It is a plain bag, if I want to pretty it up or personalize it I can use my Cameo and some heat transfer vinyl and go to town. lol

OSAGE RIVER TACTICAL SHOOTING GUN RANGE BAGS -light and standard
5 STARS. My 1st purchase was the "light" (small) Osage River Tactical Shooting Gun Range Bag because of the Q&A on size. I was disappointed in the size (much smaller than anticipated), but thrilled with the QUALITY! The zippers are extremely smooth, like a warm knife slicing through butter (whether opening/closing using the corded pulls or the metal pull). While the size was adequate for eye & hearing protection, couple boxes of ammo and my M&P Shield. it was stuffed if I included a box of .22's for my long rifle. it did NOT have ENOUGH room for my breathing protection (due to latex allergy and multiple chemical sensitivities, I have to wear a respirator mask when shooting (whether participating or spectator)). 3.5 STARS. My 2nd purchase was the "standard" (medium) bag. While not a large bag, it will have adequate room for both type shooting ammo (handgun & rifle), all my PPE and even some additional accessories, including a small cleaning kit. It's much more square in shape, unlike the rectanglar the 'light' version (and how pictured). not sure how much I'll like that (because of the larger dimensions it may be awkward carrying) until I start using it. The 2nd bag did have some defective stitching on one of the side pockets' zipper casing. The zippers do not pull as smoothly around the corners as the 'light' version bag (I have to use the metal pull and hold the edges while opening/closing). The dimensions I measured on the standard bag I received was 17" x 16", including the front & side pockets. Overall -- TOP QUALITY bag! Therefore, stayed with 5 stars based on the light version of my 1st order. Just wish the 'standard' bag was the same shape as the 'light' version. Because they have a lifetime warranty, I'll be contacting them regarding the stitching defect on the one pocket's zipper casing and asking them about the shape difference. Unfortunately, the only way to contact them is through amazon because the website listed on the product tag goes to a "coming soon" screen with no links to go any further. And while the 1st bag came with an invoice from redsgear, the 2nd came directly from amazon without a packing list.

Bigger Than It Looks!
When the bag first arrived, I wasn't sure that it would be big enough. In fact, I went ahead and ordered the larger one, only to find out that the larger one was much too big, for me. So, I spent a little time organizing the stuff into the smaller bag and was both surprised and pleased with the results. The bag came with 4 removable dividers which I took out but, I'm sure that others will find them useful. The bag contains pouches for 10 magazines (here in Connecticut, we are limited to 10 round magazines, so I don't know how well larger capacity mags will fit). It has zippered pouches on both ends and, front and back. Just to give you an idea, these are the items that I have put into my bag. Obviously, the size and the amount of stuff that you put into your bag will affect your bags capacity- 7" x 7 1/2" x 2 1/2" First Aid Kit- Towel- Roll of blue painters tape- Full size ear protection- 2- 200 round boxes of 9mm range ammo- 1-50 round box of carry ammo- Medium size canister of hand wipes- Multi tool- Small binoculars- Several black markers. There is still a little room left but, for now, it's what I need. I don't plan on carrying any firearms in the bag and, obviously, that would have an impact on what other stuff that you could carry. The bag is well put together. The zippers seem to be of high quality so they should last. The carry handles are well attached to the bag, as are the attach points for the adjustable shoulder strap. All in all, a very good bag at a good price.

Great quality range bag.
This is the smaller of the two bags offered. First off as always the item came within two days and well packaged. As you can see in the photos the bag was simply in a plastic bag and after removing it I looked over the bag. All the stitching was intact and looked to be done well, all edging was also well stitched and of good quality. The material it’s self felt heavy and of good quality. Zippers were large, worked well and are able to be locked (as noted in a picture). Going over the compartments each were well constructed with the front and back ones having compartments for magazines and a padded envelope to hold a pistol. The envelopes are big enough to hold my G17 so they can fit some full size pistols. It your pistol does not fit then just simple use the envelope as a divider to keep your pistol padded. The two side compartments are big enough for a few items, I used mine for a few tools and cleaning supplies. The center compartment comes with two Velcro dividers and allowed you to customize the compartment a little. I was able to fit my hearing protection, glasses, 500 rounds of 9mm, Uplula loaded and a few other miscellaneous items. The bag also came with a shoulder strap and the clips are metal. The bag had feet in the bottom to help keep your bag from being damaged, they also help to keep the bag standing even when empty. If you’re looking for a good range bag for 1-3 pistols this one will do just fine. The price was great for the quality of the product.

Muffs Raise this Quality Bag Above The Fray
I rate this range bag at the top due to several features. First and for me foremost, the bag, when empty, holds its shape so I can open the main top flap and load it up without having to fuss fighting the bag’s tendency to collapse as I have had to do with my previous bag. Since I shoot rifle and pistol, the built-in pistol muffs, one on each side, along with the magazine pouches, score extra points as well. The magazines are isolated from the pistols by two layers of cloth meaning there’s no possibility that in transporting the magazines and pistols will come into contact which likely would cause cosmetic damage to both. The arrangement of this bag precludes this threat. As expected, there is a plethora of zipper secured pouches and compartments useful for things like a stapler and other miscellanies. I’m able to stow the great variety of items I take to the range in different locations meaning I can then access them quickly and easily. Finally, the construction is first-rate. The material is a heavy canvas-like material and the stitching such that I feel completely sure that I’ll get many years of use from this bag. In sum, try as I may, I can’t find a single thing to improve here. The built-in muffs with magazine pouches add features I appreciate greatly and one I’ve never seen before in a range bag or any other range oriented luggage. I’ve loaded this up with some seriously heavy loads but the bag never, when emptied, lost any of its shape or ability to hold its shape when empty. I’m happy as can be with my purchase.
