I can't complain about this. It screws as tightly on to my camera as my Peak Design Plates and it fits on both Falcam clip mount systems and a Peak Design Clip mounts systems. Sideways for Falcam and straight down for Peak. I have a clip that slides in to my Arca Swiss release on a mono/tripod and my Peak Design Capture Clips for my straps and belt/backpack mounts, since they don't make a clip mount that can be put on an arca sweiss as a quick release. I just leave it tightened on to my Arca Swiss and clip this thing in when I need to do some monopod shots. Makes things so much more convenient! Peak Design should've had this problem handled years ago!

This new version will only fit the F38 Quick Release in one direction, as it has two sizes. For my use, it is not as handy, as my gimbal uses side-to-side install, while my desk/wall mount uses front-to-back. The old plates were the same size in both directions, so worked well for this. The new one does not work for that purpose. Otherwise, it is a well-made piece of equipment.

Fits loose similar to the peak design plate that comes with the capture v3 backpack clip. Is secure though and can be used on the quick release plate and updated Zero F38 by Ulanzi x Coman

If you're like me and have both bought into the peak design and ulanzi systems and don't want to have to completely disassemble things then this is your boy. It's simple. You turn the plate to the side your mount is oriented and just slide on in. The only con is it doesn't work in every scenario. For example: I run a tripod with a ulanzi mount and a peak design backpack quick release. It's really not possible to work with the two unless I can manage with having my camera pointing toward my chest and not downward based on how I've set the plate. So keep in mind the angles before you commit to this. Unless of course you're ok with screwing and turning the plate to the correct orientation each time.

Good price, I got the tripod for free, but I was missing the top plate. This was exactly what I needed and is full metal and high quality! Would recommend if you just need another top plate! I love that you can easily swap it! I ended up 3d printing another one to use for my phone.

I bought this to have an extra baseplate to use with my Ulanzi F38 Video Fluid Head. This fluid head comes with a hex key driver that slots into the fluid head. You can use this hex key to attach the included baseplate onto your camera, camcorder, iPhone mount, etc which is very convenient. HOWEVER, this base plate only accepts a slotted screw driver to attach this baseplate to your camera. Meaning, you have to carry a slotted screwdriver with you when using this baseplate. It is impossible to hand tighten this screw. For some reason, this screw also tends to loosen, further necessitating the screwdriver. On my first trip with this baseplate, I had tightened the baseplate to my iPhone mount at home and then didn't think to bring a screwdriver. When we arrived at our filming location, the baseplate had loosened and I didn't have a screwdriver. Ended up finding a pull tab from a soda can on the ground and used this to tighten it. Ulanzi should really only sell the version of this base plate that they include with their F38 Video Fluid Head which can accept a slotted screwdriver and the hex key.

Given that I have a collection of PD accessories and have now been building my F38 gear, this 2-in-1 plate comes in clutch and switching from PD to F38 clips has never been so quick. I only wish PD plays nice with Ulanzi, coz using the new PD micro clutch comes with a plate that does not play nice with the Ulanzi quick release clips (booo to PD). But this is a must-but for FR38 and PD clip shooters out there.
