OXO Good Grips Multi-Purpose Scraper & Chopper

After years of slaving away in the kitchen cutting onions, garlic, cilantro, etc. I decided to make my life easier. It is so much easier to just use the scraper/chopper than a knife. Like all OXO tools, this one too, is made of high quality materials at a reasonable price. It's easy to use and clean, looks sleek and even has a ruler engraved in the bottom of the blade--for all those people suffering from a need for precision. The biggest selling point though was the ability to chop things and then have a scraper to get it all into a pan without hte drama of dropping half on the floor. Great tool with multiple applications.

This product is great and fits in my hand perfectly. I use it to separate dough and cut cheese, it also works great for scooping up piles of veggies to drop in the pot. It is well worth the money I paid for it. It cleans up easy.

Love this scraper for working with dough. The silicone “handle” is comfortable on the hand, the edge cuts cleanly, and clean up is a breeze.

Good quality, use it all the time

This a simple item that works and doesnt cost a bunch OXO usually has good products and there is nothing wrong with this one. After using this on my Blackstone - I knocked it down a star, not due to quality but useability - if using on a hot blackstone, as you grip the handle your fingertips do come into contact with the metal scraper blade. Heat transfer up will in time... and as you scrape the angle needed puts the rest of your fingers in close proximity to the grill surface making use uncomfortable and hot. Cold scraping no issues but when the griddle is hot its a negative. I went and purchased a T handle scraper to use with the griddle.

My wife and I love cooking. I'm more of a griller myself, but she enjoys all types of cooking. Typically, we use our kitchen knives to chop vegetables, fruit, or meat. I keep our kitchen knives very sharp so every now and then, accidents do occur and we both end up wearing bandaids before the night is over (ie. cutting ourselves while trying to finely chop onions or garlic.) So, after watching a few cooking shows and seeing chefs use this tool, we decided to give it a try and we couldn't be happier with that decision. Pros: - It's large enough for my hands yet not too large for my wife's. I have rather large hands so it's perfect for me. The wife has smaller hands so while it does exceed the size of her palm, it's not excessively bulky. - It's sharp but not so sharp that it would lay you open (like our kitchen knives.) The blade is plenty thick to sharpen more if desired but because of how this is designed, we haven't seen the need (yet.) - It has an easy to grip rubber handle. Even when it gets a little wet it doesn't slip. - It chops in an upright position so you can apply more pressure more easily. With our kitchen knives, a lot of chipping results in sore wrists. With this product, you can chop for hours and not have to worry about wrist pain. - It has a built in ruler. I'm not sure when we'll ever use this feature, but it's still cool to have. - The blade is nice and thick. You certainly don't have to worry about this blade ever bending or breaking. - It holds up well in the dishwasher. Granted, we don't place it on the bottom rack or use heated dry but normal washes don't affect it's integrity. - It doubles as a scraper. If you're like me, you hate having to pick up small pieces of chopped food after you're done slicing and you hate having to grab raw meat off of the chopping board when you're done preparing. This chopper allows you to easily scrape the food off when you're done. Cons: - (I honestly can't think of any at this moment) Anytime we want to chop vegetables, fruits, or meats, we use this tool. We both highly recommend this product as personal use or as a gift.

I'm not always in a hurry to buy new "gadgets" and I tend to wait out that urge to get something. I bake a lot of bread and I've been living with a plastic spatula for a long time. I didn't think I really needed a special tool for this job. However, my spatula is wearing out and my bread making has gotten fancier so I figured it was time to step up with a real dough scraper. Oxo makes good tools especially for someone with small or weak hands. I was a bit concerned that this scraper had too sharp an edge for what I wanted it to do as I work right on my kitchen counter, but I do like Oxo's tools and I have several of them in my kitchen drawers from peelers to openers. I knew that it would be a quality piece even before I bought it so I went ahead and picked this one. I'm very pleased with it overall. It has some weight to it over my plastic spatula, but it's well balanced. The handle is oval-shaped so it fits right into the grip of my hand and feels natural. The edge is sharp enough to cut dough into portions but not so sharp that I feel like I'm going to get cut using it. The sharp corners don't seem to be a problem as the handle/grip gives me great control. I also like the little ruler/markings though they're a bit hard to see in my kitchen's lighting. I had no problem with the dough sticking to it either. One last point that isn't really a deal breaker/maker is the way that Oxo packages this tool. I didn't have to fight this thing out of it's package. It came with a tab that simply pulled open the shell. This makes me feel good about Oxo's commitment to making products that are very helpful to people that have a problem with small hands, arthritis or a weak grip. This simple little packaging consideration made me feel that they really care.

Sturdy product

This scraper and chopper does exactly what you want it to. It’s solid and feels like good quality — the blade is sharp and sturdy, and the handle is comfortable to hold. I’ve used it for chopping veggies, scraping dough, and even lifting cookies off the tray. It’s simple but really versatile, and cleaning is easy since it goes straight in the dishwasher. Definitely useful to have in the kitchen and a good price for what you get. Would recommend to anyone who cooks regularly.

Good quality, easy to use but the blade is very blunt. I would prefer a sharper blade to cut into doughs, however it is excellent in collecting veggies from cutting board or counter top.
