It is suddenly stop working, horizontal lines & no image. What's wrong?

Check if there is a break in the signal wire near the USB (White wire) you may have bent it too far. It only takes a fraction to do harm to such a tiny wire.

How do you get an image to appear on the screen with a chromebook? Plugging in the usb does nothing.

It seems that OS for a chromebook is "Chromium" which is not fit for the Celestron Digital Microscope imaging. The instrument (Celestron DMI) works on Windows PC.

I know this camera will not resolve at 5mp using photo booth, however, will it resolve at 5mp using windows 10 camera app?

Nope. 2.1 mp is what I get in Windows Camera producing 16.9(1920x1080) images.

Image acquisition on the computer: still images YES, Video storage NO

Great camera, useful for microscopy demonstrators, hobbyists and experimental biologists. I am running the software CELESTRON DIGITAL IMAGER HD 1.0 on a MAC OSX system (13.5.2) and the camera is put into the eyepiece of a DICA (Durga Instruments, Jalhandar Cantt) compound microscope. Still images are captured as Bmp, jpg and png, but video files appear not to be saved!I have written to CELESTRON, they’ve been prompt with responses but have failed to solve the problem so far.

Really low quality image

This product has a very unclear image. Had better results from putting my iphone camera in the microscope eyepiece. Wish I could have my money back
