This ruler is awesome. Not only does it grip the fabric, it truly allowed me to sew some “on point” flying geese. There are several videos out there- my favorite one by Shabby Fabrics- that expertly show you how to make this tool really work for you so you can also make some easy cuts - which allow for more time to actually sew.

Great tool for sewing half square triangles and binding. Creative Grids may be a bit more expensive but well worth the price

It is an extra ruler, fit for purpose. It’s size allows it to be used in many ways, for magic corners, for half square triangles, and other purposes.

You can expect quality products from Creative Grids, as well documented tutorials on the use for each and every item.

I’m making a quilt that involves piecing 45 degree triangles. I’m not spatially inclined, so I bought this to use for clipping the corners to make the triangle sides easier to line up correctly when sewing them together. It works well for that purpose but is probably too big. My fault for buying the X-Large. I thought the larger side would serve more purposes in the future, so I grabbed it when I had to return the smaller version I had originally purchased (that one was misprinted and probably a fake CG). The large one is clumsy when just using for clipping corners.

I will use this ruler for cutting large flying geese and joining border fabric with diagonal seams. It is easy to use after you view a tutorial on YouTube. The Creative Grid rulers are non slip when cutting which makes for greater cutting accuracy and safety.

The quilt blocks I did one a month for a year, would of been nice to of had while working on those, but looking forward to using this ruler

I own many rulers by Creative Grids and sadly, this one is a fail. With so many rulers available to clip corners while making blocks consider buying something else. This ruler has a hole punched in it at the top point. this design hole causes the point of the ruler to sit above the cutting table. The only way to keep that point in contact with the cutting table is to hold it down with your finger and this puts your hand in the way of the rotary cutter replacement knob. The other issue II had was with the gripping texture on the underside of the ruler. I found the tiny square resting on top of the larger square would shift around if i needed to readjust the ruler. The solution is to perfectly nail the ruler placement on the first try or to cut each square individually (which makes the ruler pointless).

Will be of great use

Really useful markings allow for quick cuts. They are available in different sizes. Would recommend for various triangular cuts.

It's a very good ruler.
