Mechanical chromed timer 60 minutes

Sorry to say, it's just what I expected. How awful in this day and ageyou cannot get a decent timer. I like the feel and the appearance, butthis is like my 5th dial timer. I have had many digital ones that always havethe batteries run out at the most inopportune time, and I never have thosewatch batteries on hand. I decided to go old school and have been searchingand searching. To no avail. Nothing wrong with the time keeping, but the ringeris a nanosecond and not loud. I am a multi tasker and when I make something Ineed to time, I usually am in the laundry room or some other place and need tobe able to hear it. I find it funny that the simplest things to obtain are the hardest thingsto obtain.

Product works well but the casing is plastic and very lightweight. Looks like an earlier version that recently broke -but the earlier version was made from metals - thus my disappointment. If it weren't for that I would buy it again.

This timer does not meet the quality that I have come to expect from Bengt EK and they should have never put a plastic pretender to meet a price point. Bad idea! The timer arrived with a broken mechanism out of the box. I returned it immediately. And I am still waiting for my refund. If you want to get a real Bengt EK timer go for the ones that start at about $60 and are built of solid cast aluminum and come with a sturdy mechanism. I should have know that it was too cheap to be a true Bengt EK.

I did not realize it was plastic when I ordered. It did not last over a year, unlike the aluminum predecessor that lasted many years before my son over wound it.

The ringer on this timer is so low, that it's almost impossible to hear, even if you're standing right next to it. It is a lightweight, cheap piece of garbage. I wouldn't want this crap even for free.
