2019 Q7 fits & works great!
I was skeptical after reading reviews. I did not think that it was going to work but figured for $170 it was worth a try. I'm so glad I purchased this. It was tough installing and getting the trim to fit BUT it does fit and it looks great. The set up was easy, app is great, video quality is excellent. The instructions were very clear on what wire goes where. I knew which wire it was. I would definitely recommend and I'm happy I bought this. I did upgrade the micro sd card to 256 GB. It comes with 64GB.

Factory look. Challenging installation. 2025 A6 Allroad
Vehicle : 2025 Audi A6 Allroad. Installation: Not the easiest of installs, no fault of the product. Patience is key, as is getting yourself a decent set of soft pry tools. The final piece to remove was impossible, this is the piece that is replaced by the camera. The video shows it simply sliding down, this was not the case for me. I searched around and found another installation video where the mirror is removed by twisting it off, this was the solution for me. Once the mirror was off I had a bit more space to tilt the piece forward and then down. Putting everything back together took a few attempts, take your time routing the cables. Everything will snap together tight and clean if the cables are in the right spot. If you have gaps, don't try to force it, remove, re-route cables and then try snapping the pieces together until it's perfect - I had an extra set of hands helping me during this stage. It's primarily the middle trim piece that was difficult, i routed the cable in toward the middle, between the two snaps. The final trim piece gave me a bit of trouble until I realized one of the snaps had been slightly bent during removal, after straightening it out it clicked in easily. Total install took me a couple of hours, mainly because I forced myself to walk away, clear my head and re-group. Configuration: If you're having trouble connecting to the camera, make sure you disconnect from CarPlay. In my setup, this meant turning off bluetooth and re-enabling WiFi on my iPhone. Misc: I purchased an additional 256gb Extreme SD card and the polarized lens. The lens makes a huge difference in clarity, especially at night and in bright sunlight - the reflection of the dash in the windshield completely disappears.

Get an extra set of plastic tools and read the printed WIFi info that comes in the box!!!
Removing the existing plastic pieces is impossible with the single plastic trim removal tool included in the box. After spending somthing like three hours trying to remove the third and last part, I got a $20 plastic tool kit from the local autoparts store and removed that last piece in 2 minutes. Rest of the install was OK, but it does require some dexterity. Also, the WiFi ID the units uses to link to the phone app is... bizarre? I would never have guessed which one it was (even if listed in the phone's Settings screen) it until I found a piece of paper in the box that listed it, as well as the rather trivial password. Armed with that, App works O.K. Color is not the best but useable. Also, make sure you clean the inside of the windshield for a good bit around the lens - it is such a wide angle lens that you can see smudges as far as 5 inches away (I guess it is a good thing - also, the image is not too deformed for such a wide angle coverage). Default "take" length on 1 min is too short IMHO - I set it to 5 minutes.

Stopped working after a couple months
This is a great dashcam for someone who wants a simple dashcam that blends well with the interior: PROS: 1080p when you remove the SD card and put into the computer. 8/10 quality Blends very well with the interior, looks factory-made Simple to Use: Starts with the car (after hardwiring) and that is it. SD card is easy to access No wires, virtually invisible from the drivers seat. CONS: Extremely hard to install - The only reason I could install it without paying was bc my dad has 40 years of being tech-savvy and it took 3 strenuous hours of wondering if we were breaking the interior to get it installed. Seriously, if you do not know what you are doing, get a professional to do it. It is NOT EASY to install, as much as the video makes it look easy, just get a professional. Seriously. It does not fit perfectly. One picture showed one wire coming from the bottom. On the 2022 model, the wire comes from the top, so it is a very very slight misfit. Very minor problem but nonetheless a con. App is basically useless. Does not show the live dashcam after connecting. Quality of saved videos and pics are 360p and extremely blurry. Personally, I do not care about the app bc I will just the SD card when I need to, but you get the point. Blue light that shows it is on is not visible. I was terrified the dashcam would not work after spending hours installing it. It worked but still the light is not in a good place because if you are working with any light around you, you won't know whether is will turn on when you start the engine. OVERALL: This is a nifty dashcam that is simple for anyone looking to add one to their Audi. It does the job very well and it easy to use. It blends very well with the interior and looks factory-made. Just get a professional or someone who knows what they are doing and you will be very satisfied. There might be a slight misfit though but it is not even noticeable. App is useless, so if you value that, look elsewhere. Otherwise this will be a great addition to your car. I am satisfied with the purchase and will not fear when I meet an idiot on the road. 4/5 stars, would purchase again but would send it to an auto shop. Thanks. Update: Turns out it stopped working 2 months ago. Very disappointed

Best option for a factory look.
I installed this in my 2024 Q8 etron. it is excellent and it truly looks factory. Install is not as bad as some people have reviewed. I'm pretty experienced with car installs and removing trim etc. If you have experience or are mechanically inclined it's pretty simple. If you're not, it's going to be difficult. Install took me about an hour. Disassembly is easy. I went from back to front. Large part just pops off. Go for the seam on the middle two parts and it will separate easily. Last part (one that gets replaced) should be spread apart at the top (two spudgers work well on either side) and then pull it straight down towards dash. Assembly is pretty straightforward. Cable from camera gets in the way so there is some fiddling around to be done. Camera part inserts straight up. If you don't get a positive click cable is in the way. Neoprene gasket on top should contact windshield. Center trim piece is trickiest here and I found if the cable goes behind clips towards windshield it is the easiest. Parts interface well and excessive force should not be required. If you feel yourself really having to force things together something is off - likely the cable in the way. Just fiddle it around and you'll eventually get it. Final large trim piece is simple. I would test camera before fully assembling. Pairing with wifi also reasonably easy if you are familiar with the process in general. Here's the rub. If your car uses wireless CarPlay etc it's going to try to kick you off the camera's wifi every 30 seconds or so. You need to select the Audi MMI wifi in the settings (iPhone) and deselect auto connect. This will allow you to check camera and configure it correctly - you can reselect auto connect when you are done. You're going to need to do this whenever you access camera via wifi. This means that wireless CarPlay and this camera don't really play nice together. If you anticipate viewing the dash cam on your phone while driving around you are going to need to stay disconnected from cars wifi services. You could do this by using wired CarPlay I guess but who wants to do that? I will just use it as a discrete camera and pull the card if there is ever a need to retain footage. Image is good and it looks great - truly almost factory. You can see a little bit poking beneath mirror from drivers perspective but not bad at all. Overall the best option for a factory look dash cam for your Audi.

Almost Perfect (2024 Q8 e-tron)
As stated by many, installation can be a pain because of how tight the OEM cover is. Once that is out of the way, installing the cam and connecting the pigtail is a breeze. Three complaints I have (could be easily updated via firmware) - The blue 'recording' light is very annoying and distracting at night and cannot be turned off or dimmed. - There is no clear way to save video footage; when you press the snapshot button, it just saves a still picture (there is no audio confirmation). - Connecting to the camera is impossible if you use Apple CarPlay wirelessly. I hope the manufacturer can correct these in a firmware update; this is a solid dashcam overall.

Video evidence is worth more than a 1000 words
Easy to install and set up. Looks as pictured and blends in well. Saved me in a work truck gravel incident that almost totaled the car.

decent concept, poor quality
The concept of having a hidden dashcam that blends in with the OEM look is great, the execution here is very poor. Bought this for my 19 Audi A4 which is pretty easy to install. The wiring harness is way too short on the connector side. You have to bunch them up so tight to even get them to fit it bends the wires at a very poor angle. The quality of the fitment of the plastic housing is mediocre at best, but the biggest complaint here is that the video quality is pretty bad. Claims to be 4k but it is very grainy and has a very low framerate. The app is also pretty mediocre. It's ashame the instructions are not clearer to explain wire routing because I struggled for 15 minutes trying to figure out how to route the wire coming off the camera through the plastic housing where it would not be pinched, and it still pinches pretty bad around the rear-view mirror mount. Needs improvement for sure, not worth the price. Update: FitCamX reached out to discuss the issues but basically brushed it off as the quality being consistent with cameras in this price point. Pretty poor customer service, considering my $90 cam I had previously could produce a better picture quality and had better app support than this. Shame because it's a great concept.
