Yes. The top scale is graduated in "grams" and, the bottom scale is graduated in "ounces".

I don't know how to get a refund. Mine didn't work very long either. I ended up getting a stainless steel one that costs more but very reliable and gives the tare so I can use whatever dish I want on it because it's a flat surface.

Q: How do you put it at 0 !?!

There should be a little black knob to spin to adjust the numbers.
