I got this hat because I was taking a week long trip to Bermuda, and I didn't want to get tired in the sun.I wanted something with a relatively wide brim, and this fit the bill. With the hat on, the sun stayed out of my face for the majority of the day, except for the very beginning and very end when the sun was low in the sky. The brim is wide enough to keep the sun off of a significant portion of the top half of my body, so that kept me cool.There was one day when the rain came pouring down and I kept the hat on. I think my head and neckline were the only dry parts of me. When I took the hat off I wasn't wet at all underneath. I still wouldn't recommend going out in the rain with just the hat, bring a proper umbrella or jacket.It was snug, but not too tight on my head. I measured my head (24+ inches), which was too big for most of the hats I'd seen on Amazon.The strap is adjustable which I appreciated, and I like that it can fold in half and is very flat when folded. The only downside I would state is that there is a more or less permanent folding mark because it's shipped folded.I loved having this hat in Bermuda, though I'm sure I looked like a stereotypical tourist.

"Head lock tighten strap nob" NOPE. This does not tighten the hat around your head. It's sewn to the side of the hat immediately after the hole. And because it is so close together the stiffness of the hat actually keeps you from being able to tighten it. Not to mention that the cord material is elastic so it gives and yep...no tightening.So as long as you DON'T NEED it to tighten around your head it's a good hat. The chin strap works well and it provides good shade, especially on the neck.Good Hat, but misleading description.

Tldr; I LOVE this hat, and highly recommend it.🥰Got this hat in early August, and finally wore it to the beach this week. Awesome!!! So lightweight, easy to pack, and doesn't get wrinkled (at least mine hasn't yet). Also it was delivered open (not folded) and was unwrinkled. Not sure why it's considered s men's hat, I think any sex can use it.I considered but wasn't looking for the type with the blue liner that you wet to stay cool... This hat doesn't need it! I stayed shaded, cooler than being hatless. At one point I felt my head sweating (5 hours at the beach) but it never dripped down my face; I didn't have to spend the day wiping my hairline or face because the hat absorbed the sweat almost as soon as it occurred. For fun, to see how it'd be, and to cool off from a workout (strong waves made it a super workout just trying to not get pulled in :-p) I put the hat in the ocean to try out the cooling effect other hats have the blue liner for ... Worked like a charm!Nice light grey color looked great with my black & white swimwear. It will also go very well with all of my bathing suits (blues, black, grey, brown multi, etc.). Doesn't look dorky, and I got compliments. My sister tried it and wants one now too, so I came to find this order today to send her the link but will just buy one for her. 😁👍🏽

Really liking these hats with the 4.7" brim. I've always wore the "boony" style hats while siding, which are about 2 1/2" brims, they just didn't provide enough shade coverage. These are perfect as far as the brim goes, a LOT of shade for the face and neck, not to mention how much cooler I am under this hat.The only problem, is the fabric on the top is very thin. You can practically see through it, which is great for ventilation, but definitely lets some sun on the top of the head. So when I wear these hats, I still need to wear sunscreen on the top of my head. Maybe eventually I'll put a couple iron on patches on the underside of the top of the hat to offer more sun protection.Overall though, these hats are great if you are going to be in the hot sun. Since like I said, the material is real thin on top, I don't expect these to last more than a couple months or so with heavy duty/daily use, but I will buy more, as these offer a lot of great sun protection with the wide brim.

Have a similar hat from a couple of years ago with a lot of hours in the sun doing heavy work. Like this one better. Is larger and fits my large head. The tan fabric is not as "bright" as the previous grey but the reflective material still helps to moderate the sun. Adsorbent headband. Large brim that is stiff enough to hold shape. One commenter stated that it did not cool. I guess they expected an installed AC unit???. It is fabric that will absorb sweat, evaporate, and help with the sun and heat.

It's a wide brimmed sun hat, it does what a wide brimmed sun hat should do. It's comfortable, and has a cord you can tighten to fit a smaller head. I apparently have a pretty big head, and also often wear my hair in a high bun when it's hot. It still fits comfortably over the bun. I've adjusted it down to fit my 12 year old with no issues. It has a break in the stiffening in the brim so you can fold it in half easily without damaging it. Helpful considering it's got a pretty big brim.It's a little dorky looking in my opinion, but when you burn like a vampire in the sun, it's necessary unless you never leave your house in the summer.

This hat rocks for sure! The hat came flat so there is no distortion to the brim!!! This is very much appreciated thank you!! the materials seem good, the fit for my head was perfect. snug, but not tight. After a few min, I felt my head warming up, so I removed the top cap and instantly felt the coolness. This is a very nice design I'm digging it for sure! I can't wait to hit that all-day music fest, a day at the lake, hiking, or well shoot anytime I spend a lot of time in the sun. This hat will be my new goto for sure!

Works well for what is intended. A little dorky looking, but that is to be expected of a hat this size.Speaking of size, I have a pretty big head, and this hat is a little too small. Should work well for an average size head. It fits ok, just very snug. It did get some sweat stains on it after a day in the sun. I don't know if that is normal, but none of my other hats have done that.

I don't know what the other reviews are yalking about... this hat is NOT for people with large heads! It's standard sized, so about 2-3 inches too small me for me, which is so annoying... but the brim is wide, if you don't have trouble finding hats that fit than I'd recommend it.
