Blum39C355B.20 Compact BLUMOTION 39C Hinge, Soft-Close, 110 Degree, 1-1/4 Overlay, Screw-on (2)

I wanted to replace existing self-closing cabinet door hinges with soft-closing versions. Having Blum hinges now, I made a trial purchase of one pair before committing to replace all 52 (26 doors). I'm very happy to report that these were literally a drop-in replacement! As a further test, I replaced only one hinge on each of two doors and see how that works out over the next few days. One self-closing hinge is good so far, but still allows the door to be slammed shut, among the things I want to avoid. We'll see.It was crucial to have found the "overlap" stamped on my existing hinges. Less crucial, but still important was purchasing the same brand. As part of this trial, I also purchased a pair from a different brand. While high quality and less expensive, they were NOT a drop-in fit and will not be used. Where the Blum hinges have beveled holes on the cup bracket (that align perfectly with existing holes!), the non-Blum hinges have ribbed plastic pegs. The pegs do align with the existing holes, and could possibly be used, but I'm not going to remove 50 pegs and also purchase screws to replace them.

Bought 1 1/4 inch overlay face frame hinges. They worked well. Good soft close. Definitely buy them again.

I have tried others and these work the best. Very mooth closure.
