The writing experience with these is excellent— better than Parker cartridges in my opinion. The main drawback is that the high amount of ink laid down and its low viscosity causes it to take a long time to dry completely, so smudging happens regularly if you’re not careful. That being said, if the writing experience and rich color are your priorities, you can’t do any better than these.

This is an absolutely phenomenal product that will immediately convert you ballpoint pen into a rollerball. But not just any rollerball, but the best that you will ever encounter. The manufacture specifies that their product is special in that in does not dry out, even though uncapped. Boy is this an accurate description. I have a Cross Townsend rollerball and that one is always drying out. The Monteverde, never. When writing with this marvelous ink, the flow over the paper is smooth as silk and looks very rich on the page.Just one thing, be sure to use quality paper. Writing on thin paper will cause some bleed through.I will be writing exclusively with this ink for a long time to come.

NOTE: if you're a lefty you will smear this ink writing across the page. Slow drying. This ink is wet, fast, and puts down a nice line. If you like a little drag in your pen stroke use a ballpoint. Has about the same line as a Pilot G2-10.

One of my favorite refills. Fits my Tiffany pen and it writes so nice. So many people have tried to steal my pen because it writes so nice.

I just love the smoothness and bold ink in this refill. The gel ink is vibrant and so much better than standard paste inks. I always replace as many old refills as I can with refill I like it so much.

Writes very nicely. Sometimes a blob. But I tossed the all the refills after I discovered they leak into a shirt pocket. My dry cleaner got the ink out, but until someone pointed out to me, walked around with ink on my shirts for a week.

Ballpoints have a lot of advantages, but the writing experience isn't one of them. They stick to the paper and leave you with a scrawny narrow line. Gel inks are much better.Because Parker, in the 1950s, did figure out how to make ballpoint cartridges that didn't leave splotches of ink all over or skip all the time, a large number of pens now use their cartridges. So, this is a device that will fit into most ballpoints and convert them into gel ink pens. Much more fun to write with.There are a slew of companies that make this type of device. I've tried Montegrappa's and I've tried Parker's. Montegrappa's are better. They come in a wider range of colors, a better packaging and - for some reason - Parker's cartridges come covered with some kind of slimy oil. Ick. I've also tried Schmitt's cartridges (in a different size, to be sure) and they skip like a calf.

These refills are the best thing you can do for your vintage Parker Jotter pens. The color, ink flow, and smoothness are unrivaled. Also, Lanier is an excellent company to deal with and really take care of their customers.

NIce to write with - no "blobbing", and very smooth.
