Bought this rod as a replacement for a very cheap telescopic rod I had been using. Wanted something that lasted well and lightweight for travelling to remote hill lochs. Not used the rod yet but very happy with its size, weight and quality. Opted for the max version rather than the fish rig 180 to allow me to catch bigger fish like pike if I wanted too without the worry of breaking the rod or adding additional stress on it. Also plan on using it for catch small river sea trout from time to time. Happy with this purchase so far.Update since using the rod - really happy with the rod and how it performs! Great quality and really smooth to use paired with the R&R 3000 reel. Really glad I opted for this rod. Works great from shore or fishing kayak. Highly recommend!

Very sensitive, great for finesse fishing and drop shotting

After months of my son watching videos of this rod getting used on YouTube along with the reel , he went on and on at me to buy him the setup for his 14th birthday , so after all the pleading from him I gave in and ordered him the setup , unfortunately after his second use which I was with him he had a very small snag to which the rod snapped clean in half , he is very upset now and at the price I paid I have to admit the rod is definitely not as robust as it should be , I have been flashing for over 25 yrs and am shocked at how easy for the price that it done this , I do not know who to contact or what to do as now my son has a reel with no rod to go with it , so so so disappointed.

Super compact, sensitive, lightweight but surprisingly powerful rod. I've balanced it with a 2000 sized reel for light work, the telescopic/tip insert combination is a winner. Ideal for drop shotting, canoe or small boat fishing in fresh water because can be set up in a confined space. Perfect for a wander along a canal. In competent hands, I'm sure this could handle a double figure pike no problem, but I haven't been lucky enough to be able to test that out as yet.

I am extremely impressed with this rod. It is very light, and the finish is fantastic. It can cast very light lures, and I'm sure it will be an excellent tool for years to come. The rod case is also great quality. Ideal for anyone looking for a LRF or perch/trout rod.

What can I say, this little rod is an absolute dream. Simple to set up straight out of the box. I have caught lot of different weight fish superb little rod from a couple of ounces upto 7LB with no problems with so ever. I have so much confidence in this rod, If you use it correctly this thing is bomb proof. It has a 2 year guarantee no questions ask, if it breaks they will replace! What more can you ask ? Absolutely beautiful, light weight with a soft action. The rod and carry case is such high quality. It’s incredible you get all this for the price. My new go to perch set up paired with a 500 size reel.
