Q: How many individual pieces of chocolate come in each box?

My neighbor just gave me a box for the holidays. There are 2 layers, each with 18 assorted pieces. So 36 pieces total. So far, the 5 pieces that I've had since this afternoon are all very good.

Q: Is this in a gold box full of truffles pictured, or in a maroon box as stated in description? looking for truffles not assorted chocolates.

I bought one that came in a maroon box and one in a gold box. Both were assorted chocolates, and delicious. But not truffles.

Q: Is the date given an expiration date or manufacturer date?

Dear Amazon member , There are several different sellers of this item in Amazon market place . Although we not aware Of others sellers expiration date for this item , the item we sell ( quality name brands for less ) have expiration date of August 2020 ( at the time of this posting which is Dec 20, 2019 ) . Every year at near Christmas time , we send new items with expiration date of at least 6-7 months from Christmas to assure the freshness of this high quality items . Regards

Q: Are the shells very hard

From what I remember the answer is no. Every chocolate in this box is outstanding. If you need to cut each candy with a knife into more manageable pieces, I think you will still enjoy these chocolates. I really don't recall these candies being hard on the outside.
