What I have is 9ft height and 6ft width

How much weight can handle this stand?

We used it to hold a normal thickness curtain of size 7×7 ft.

How to adjust the width? There are only two oval holes (one on each rod on the end). How to adjust width to 3 feet, no single rod has 2 holes.

Each small rod goes on either side of the main vertical rod. The height of the vertical rod is adjustable. I think horizontal rods width is not adjustable.
