I bought this to play with my granddaughter... to make it more fun I used partial/half of the cards... it turned out to be fun and educational as well as a fun game! We enjoyed and will definitely play often. Oh, it's also made well.

If you're going to play a memory game, you may as well play with a set that imparts some kind of knowledge during play. This one will help you identify all the state flags of the US. It does in fact, feature all the flags of the Union, and whether you're playing the matching game, or using them as an accessory to a school project, I think this set has merit. The drawbacks come from the materials. The cards themselves are thin -- think playing cards. Of course, with a hundred cards, thicker ones would take up a lot of space. The real let down is the box. If kids (or adults) are going to be playing with this set often, the flimsy box will not hold up. Another container or zipper bag will be necessary. And know that since there are 100 cards to this set, a memory match game will be long, and only playable by older kids. But you can take out 8 or 10 pairs to play a memory game with preschoolers and it will work fine. It comes, thankfully, with all the cards paired and in alphabetical order, so in the beginning, it's easy to sort out the states you want if separating from the pack. Overall, I like this set. Just keep them in a zipper bag if the box tears and you'll be fine.

This game is awesome!! My kids love it and best part is we all got to memorize the flags of each US state. One of the best games ever!! Great quality and incredible to be played with the whole family.

I love the cards with the state flags and capitals on them. In addition to being a game, this is a good way to earn the state capitals. It's amazing how state flags differ from simple designs (like my home state of North Carolina) to intricate and multi-colored ones (like the state of Maryland). As a memory game, it works like this: There are two copies of every state flag. Place all the cards face down so that you can't see the state flag. The youngest player goes first, and turns over two cards. If they don't match, he must place them back face down in the same spot he picked them up from. If they do match, he keeps the cards and gets additional turns until he turns up two cards that don't match. Players continue taking turns until all the cards are gone. The player with the most matches wins. This reminds me of the old game show on TV called "The Match Game." Players must remember where on the table cards were turned up earlier. The packet says it is a good game for ages 3 to 99!

These are perfect and simple. It is a great way to learn what all of the state flags look like. My children love playing with them and now they know the states flags. They will spot them in designs or adds everywhere.
