Being ex-Military, we visit our relative grave sites on Memorial Day and used to leave a penny on the headstone of each of those who had "served". The history and tradition is 'said' to have come from the Roman era where the dead soldiers' widow was given a Roman 'Mite' silver coin. So, these are a great way to continue the "Tradition". We'll be buying more since we have 5 past prior service relatives, we leave coins for each year.

I have used these with my older student's bible classes to show them how tiny these were. They are usually very surprised at the small size. It gives them a nice sense of the importance of the widow's giving relative to others in Biblical times.

I bought this to use as an authentic looking prop. I love it, but the reason I changed the rating to "I like it" is because they put the product sticker over the embossed emblem on the front of the bag, so when I pulled off the sticker, it pulled off some of the emblem.

Over all these littlecoins are interesting, a bit thin but still nice looking. The pouch was a bonus...but I think the gold print on the pouch kinda clashes with the message of the Widow's humble offering. I've already given some as gifts to people who talk to me about Christ and the scriptures.

I should have purchased (20) more. This worked well for a church play. Replica that I was looking for!
