I had been worried about my older dog joining us when we go out the river, but this vest is perfect for keeping him afloat and safe! One huge attention to detail on this is the mini float right under the head! So it helps keep a aging dogs head above the water when they are out dog paddling! It also is fairly easy to put on at the river! I will say the look is really up to you, but I enjoy the bright color which made keeping an eye out on him much easier! He ended up having a blast swimming for a few hours. We have used it all summer and I can say the vest has a good build quality that will last.

Our 13 year old dog Chow Chow is starting to have trouble walking upstairs. He would give up after tripping over a few steps and started to bark to us for help. The only issue is that he doesn't like to be carried. He's a rescue so there's some sort of deep instinct to nip at someone who grabs his rear legs. His vet thinks the combination of sore hind legs and his natural instinct to protect his back side makes him aggressive to being carried. Then I saw this Dog Life Jacket... Unlink some models, this version has TWO handles. This allows me to carry my 60lbs dog like a log carrier, evenly distributing his weight from the front and rear side. My dog is completely clueless to the entire process, from strapping on the vest to being carried up a flight of stairs. From the straps to the full body velcro that covers the body, I found lifting the doggy up the stairs to be very secure. The vest seems comfortable, he doesn't flinch or panic when the pressure lifts up to his belly. The neck strap/velcro system is very secure. There are times where the vest function like a physical therapy device because the dog will walk up the stairs on his own, I just have to lift him from the rear handle to support his sore hind legs. He still has upper strength, the old dog just needs support for his back legs and this vest helps take the burden away from pushing up I highly recommend for those having issue getting their dogs up the stairs or as a physical therapy tool to provide support.

It’s a nice vest. I like the handle on top and the under chin flotation. The only problem I have is that it only extends midway on my dogs back. I would have preferred it be longer, but other than that it’s great.

Kept my dog afloat in the pool and he comfortably swam in it. When i picked him up by the handles, it started tearing. Needs to be made of sturdier material as my dog is 85lbs

This is one of the best safety items that I have purchased for my dog when he’s in my boat with me. It fits him perfect. I’ve taken him to the beach. Not sure why this vest gets such good reviews. Maybe it’s good for small light dogs but the first test I did with my dog and the grab handles, a buckle came off. So I tried it again and anytime I practiced lifting my dog with the straps, the buckle would come undone very easily. I do not recommend

I bought this for 90lb shepherd, not that he needs it to swim, just for safety bc he can be a little clumsy by the pool. I got him the xl and it fits perfectly with room to adjust smaller or bigger I was skeptical it's hard to find him anything that fits well. He seems to love it too gives him a little more confidence to get in the pool!

Zara loved it felt secure with her going far distances. She loves to swim and this enables her to go much further without a fear of her drowning all day, fun for her and no stress for me well, other than trying to get her to take a break

Got this for my 70 lb german shepherd, fit perfect as per the size guide (my guy was an XL) and was functional giving nice floatation. I used this as I was doing water therapy with my dog in a pool and it was exactly what I wanted.

My dog hasn’t used it for swimming yet. She’s a great swimmer however she is 8 now and getting more and more tired so a little extra help was something I needed for her. Will update with how it works in the lake!
