For all of you just starting out or thinking about taking the leap, I HIGHLY SUGGEST that you purchase this book by Allen Lee, it arrived and I managed to read it in 2 days.Outstanding content and advice for all. Not just the new starters. Unfortunately all do not realize that you can be the Best Handyman in the world but you must have business sense In order to succeed. You are running a BUSINESS!We see a lot of "what do I charge?" "Is it to much?" "What if they don't like my price?" This book unlike Allen's marketing book is actually worth reading. There's plenty of knowledge shared.

Lots of interesting information

I started my handyman business 3 years ago and I have a brother who kept telling me to stop trading time for money but I never understood what he meant until I read Allen’s book on pricing. My business has grown more than I ever expected in the last two years but so has my cost of doing business. I keep having more and more money going through my hands but I find myself falling more into debt than I have ever been. I realize now that all my money making has been a delusion and that my overhead is more or most of my profit. I work day and night but there aren’t enough hours to make as much as I need to make to grow. Allen has shown me how to figure out how much I need to make and how to make it. For example: I can’t tell someone that I charge $200 per hour but I could tell someone that I can replace a vanity for $200 (knowing it would only take me 1 hour). I can’t trade time for dollars I have to bid jobs knowing how much I need to make to turn a profit and grow. There are some guys that I pay $35 per hour to work with me and I billed them out at $50 per hour. I thought I was making money off of them but considering my overhead they were making more than me when I billed myself out @ $50 per hour too. I refuse to let this patter continue and thanks to Allen’s book I have found a new way! Thank you Allen!

This book is written with a no nonsense approach. It was perfect for my needs as a startup. Every how-to-book should be written this way. Conversationally simply and to the point. The instruction on how you calculate your pricing is explained in a way that it becomes intuitive. Especially when used with a simple Excel sheet as I plan to do. Thank you.

I like the formulas for finding your hourly rate and then your break even and then your profit. Very old feedback on that regards. This is def an entry level book and probably would not be of much value if you are looking for something with more dept.

Thin paperback and easy to read. This is nice for me for I am not a heavy reader and it's easy to carry around. Good reading too.

May have had to change a few things as I read, since I’m from the uk and this is an American book. But all in all the guidance, way in which he writes, was very easy to work with and with that intriguing. Must read for those it’s relevant to.

Allen's books are the best resource out there for starting a handyman business. Just following the steps has lead to my success. It would of taken me years to learn this stuff on my own.

I feel the author could have been more precise in what he charges for jobs. At the price that this book is, I would have expected more thoroughness. Probably good for those who are new to starting a business. With that being said, it’s somewhere in the middle of what it could be. Maybe the author will put more thoughtfulness and energy into the next one. His YouTube channel is consistent with the way the book is written, so it is what I expected.

This book is awesome. Allen Lee really provides information that you can't find anywhere. It's a great guideline for any handyman service or business. Check out his YouTube videos as well. Definitely a great read and investment for your business.
