Reliable Memory Upgrade From a Reliable Company
No easier way to upgrade a laptop then with more memory. Nothing special needed in most laptops to upgrade (many have a screw plate that can be removed to do it in moments without taking anything else apart), and just basic understanding of a screwdriver and RAM slot is needed.Corsair is a well respected brand name memory and comes with a Lifetime Warranty so there are no fears you will get a bad memory stick and be stuck with it.I personally did not have any issues with this memory. It came to me well packaged and I had no issues upgrading my current memory quickly. Machine booted up perfectly and the new modules were recognized by the laptop without any special changes to the machine. After months and month of use have yet to have one issue with the memory from this purchase.

Easy to install, best price found for 8gb.
Truthfully, I thought I was going to see more of a difference going from 3GB to 8GB. Other than that, I would like like to say that it is quite difficult to find larger amounts of ram in stores and Amazon made it easy to find what I wanted at a cheaper price then I was finding anywhere else. Easy to install, meaning all I had to do was unscrew the cover on the bottom of my laptop take the old ram out and snap the new ram in.Information I researched that would be useful for others to know before purchasing:You have to have a 64bit system to go up to 8gb.From 4GB to 8GB you are going to notice a difference when using a program like photoshop (which I use almost everyday)Most people don't need this amount of memory to do things like word, go on the internet, and things like thatOther information that may be useful:Dell Studio 1735, Windows 7 64bit

I purchased this one near a year ago.I replaced the original 3 Gb (1x2 Gb and 1x1 Gb) of my Dell XPS M1530 and so far it works very well.Below are the information provided in a report of HWiNFO64: [General Module Information] Module Size: 4096 MBytes Memory Type: DDR2-SDRAM DIMM Type: SO-DIMM Error Check/Correction: None Memory Speed: 400.0 MHz (PC2-6400) Module Manufacturer: Corsair Module Model: VS4GSDS800D2 [Module Characteristics] Module Width: 64-bits Module Voltage: SSTL 1.8V Number Of Ranks: 2 Number Of Banks: 8 [Module timing] Supported Burst Lengths: 4, 8 Refresh Rate: Reduced 0.5x (7.8 us) Supported CAS Latencies (tCAS): 6.0, 5.0, 4.0 Min. Excellent price for excellent performance
I was a little hesitant to purchase these memory modules; everywhere else they were being sold for 200 - 300 dollars for 2x4GB modules. In fact, it was cheaper to buy both of these modules here than one of these modules in-store. So I'm very happy with the pricing. Now for quality: Immediately "faster." Now, I need to clarify and say that my computer was fast enough when I first purchased it, but over the years of using it as my main PC and heavy media editing, it's slowed down noticeably because of the memory-hog programs I use (Adobe CS5 suite). The additional memory makes it feel more like how it used to be. For example: I normally save my browsing session so that my previously seen tabs reload when I reopen my browser (~25 tabs when researching for RAM + Battery packs), with the original 4 GB, it would take upwards to 5 minutes to load all tabs but with 8 GB, it takes less than one minute.I'm also able to run Vista 64x in full-quality mode, versus having to run in Classic-Theme mode to save system resources. I haven't noticed the boot-up sequence speed up at all, but what matters for me is the actual interactivity concerns I had prior with slow-refresh rates and generally sluggish system behavior.Would recommend completely.

Great price and just what I needed
I needed to add memory to my computer, so that I could upgrade to windows 7 professional. My computer came with 3 GB of memory which is ok for win 7 home, but I wanted more features and more power. I updated to 8 gigs and Windows 7 professional recognized it right away. Also, my boot up speed increased a little. Overall, I am satisfied with the product.

No Stars for Apple
Simply put, this RAM is not Apple friendly. First Boot was greeted with the 3 Beep post error. No Good Banks. After several different configurations finally got system to boot. Slow, buggy and multiple Application errors and crashes.Save your money, Crucial and MAC not a happy union. Shoulda got Kingston, I know they work!

Maxing out for a descent price
Took me under 10 minutes to upgrade my Toshiba Tecra laptop from 4GB to 8GB. No BSOD under Windows7 Pro x64 so far. I've check with Speecy and CPU-Z utilities and I'm pleased to report that the SODIMMs are detected correctly except for the speed which is 799MHz. (1Mhz is not the end of the world haha!) Even my Kubuntu Linux is running smoother with 8GB of RAM.

Notebook: Asus X71Q, Chipsatz: Mobile Intel® GL40 Express Chipset.
