the description says latches is it one set or two sets of latches

Only 1 set. That one set consists of 2 pieces. They are great latches BUT be sure you ask for the correct tension required to open them. My Motorhome came with 10 lb pull so I changed to 5 lb pull. Much easier to use. I believe the popular choices are 10 lb, 5 lb and 3 lb.

The base (latch) is 1 7/8 inch long and 1 1/8 in wide by 7/16 deep. The catch (hook) is 2 13/16 inches long by 7/16 wide by 15/16ths deep.
