Awesome sequel - two words I never used together
The first movie was amazing, spot on. As new parents with a small baby on my chest at the time of watching we were awashed with emotions. It was John Krasinski 's love letter to their children and it was the best kind of love letter I 'read' in a long time. But enough of the first movie. We were afraid what a sequel can bring to the table. Try to avoid trailers and such because for me they can ruin the actual viewing experience. There were things that came through anyway and I was afraid I won't like the next movie. The first one pushed the bar sooo high I was sure it won't come close and I'll be disappointed. To my surprise I wasn't.The movie starts on day 1. Amazing shot to show us how it started. Oh the emotions, seeing Lee(Krasinski) with the kids before everything started and the initial terror on their faces when the creatures arrived. The intelligence of this family which was there in the first movie, evident in the second too. The relatable family. I don't want to spoil anything for anybody so I'm not going to say exact things from the movie. But a huge congratulations to John who did it again! Although different kind than the first(which is good because you cannot repeat that) almost as equally good - probably I'm saying this because of the new family thing but the suspense was perfect in that. I was waiting for plot holes and such and it shows that someone with intelligence written and directed this movie. I'm pleased to have watched another John Krasinski movie, I hope it will be many more to come! Awesome performance from all the actors and actresses - although John was missing to guide the scenes from the inside, that didn't take away from the movie. Oh and the music was again spot on. I think I'm going to go watch it again :)

Part 2
If you have seen the first movie you've seen it all. The first 15mins or so are straight recap of how it started taken from the original. It supposedly follows Emily Blunts character and her kids on there forward journey, but it drags on to the finale. But guess what, the plot is left open. The first movie was great, this was not.

more of the same in Part II but still enjoyable
I really enjoyed Part II of A Quiet Place. The film starts off with a glimpse of the beginning of the alien invasion on Day 1 then continues on Day 474, the day the first film, A Quiet Place, ends. The characters of film one continue to be developed, especially that of the deaf daughter, Regan, who goes from being a bit of a black sheep in the first film to a strong and brave young lady in the second. The remainder of the Abbott family continue to adapt and learn how to survive and outsmart the alien creatures that hunt them by sound. I think this is an intelligent drama and very well acted. I wouldn’t describe either A Quiet Place or A Quiet Place Part II as a horror films but they certainly are tense at times and anyone who enjoyed the first film, will certainly not be disappointed with A Quiet Place Part II. I do think the story line and characters rather lends itself to a future miniseries and I could definitely see myself binging on a few seasons if that ever became a reality!

A superb sequel, hopefully part two of a trilogy...
Sequels rarely live up to originals. And A Quiet Place was a sleeper hit that resonated well with audiences. So A Quiet Place 2 has big boots to fill. Unlike Millicent Simmonds who it seems doesn't have any. However, luckily this is a sequel that sticks to the winning formula of the first. All of the original cast return. Either in present day or flashback. And Krasinski (Emily Blunt's real life husband) is back behind the camera. This is his fourth film as director and its clear that this is a smart career move. He has crafted a taut, well paced, intense sci-fi/horror thriller that combines the best elements of the original with a bigger budget. This enables the story to expand in location and adds a couple of bigger names in Cillian Murphy (very good) and Djimon Hounsou (good).Other than an opening that shows how it all started in Day 1. The action picks up at Day 474 and chronicles the Abbotts journey from the ruins of their former home to find a safer refuge and other survivors. Still grieving the loss of husband and father they find a kindred spirit in Emmett who has lost both son and wife. Midway the story splits and Regan (pursued and eventually aided by Emmett) journeys on to seek a possible haven. While Evelyn battles to keep her injured son and newborn baby safe from the ever present monsters. The whole apocalyptic, survivalist, alien invasion, has of course been done before many times. There are plenty of them on Netflix for example. I should know, I've watched most of them. And many of them are pretty good too. However, in my opinion this film (heading into franchise territory) is one of the best out there. The CGI has been kept to a minimum. Essentially just the creatures. While the film itself has focused on the love and self sufficiency of the tight knit family unit.If you've seen the original then watching this is the obvious move. If not then you really should curl up on the sofa, put the popcorn on, and spend an evening with a real quality double feature.

Must see
As a die hard fan of the first film, this was a must watch for me - and it did not disappoint. It was good to see the writer / director in a cameo at the start and then the two children gradually become the heroes of the sequel - especially the deaf actress that plays Lee's daughter. However, it's Cillian Murphy that steals the limelight as an extremely sympathetic character and the initially reluctant helper of the Abbott family. As someone who lost much more than anyone ever ought to, he doesn't want to care about anyone and anything any more. That changes along the way, of course, and I just loved how the character sprang into action once he realised there are still good people worth risking your life for.The scares are never gratuitous and genuinely nerve-wrecking. It felt at times like you couldn't even breathe, let alone speak or munch on popcorn!Great to see a film franchise that doesn't easily lose its heart while sticking to its core message of not giving up even in the face of tremendous danger. Looking forward to Part III.
