TomTom Car Sat Nav GO Classic, 5 Inch, with Traffic Congestion and Speed Cam Alert trial thanks to TomTom Traffic, EU Maps, Updates via WiFi, Integrated Reversible Mount

I bought this to save me the effort of moving a satnav from one car to another. Lazy! I now have 3 Tomtom sat navs. The small ones are ideal for classic cars because the windscreens are tiny to start with, by the time you have the wipers, wiper motor, and rear view mirror there's not much screen left to look through. I was looking forward to all three synchronising, yes they all log on to the Tomtom account and the Tomtom account says they are there but "we are having trouble connecting to TomTom services try again later" is all I get and yes they're all on the same WiFi router. In fact they're all sitting on my kitchen table ignoring each other. So that's the one star penalty dealt with. In use they're hard to fault I use TomTom in eastern Europe and the roads are upto date. The next day they were all synchomised. Star reinstated. New roads are there on every update. Apart from that routes are accurate and the navigation is easy to follow.

Very good overall so car Pros - does stick on well - quite easy to use - nice screen size Cons - do sometimes need to tap a few times - i believe you need to connect to the internet to keep up to date but not a major con really it's great for elderly people who don't always have the latest phones etc

Probably has less features than some of the (far) more expensive SatNav's but for the cost, this model is more than adequate for everyday use.

These newer version of tomtom’s work well. Easy to use and fit to the screen well with the pre-fitted bracket. You do need the unit connected to a WiFi source to have live traffic. Good value for money

Nearly 2yrs on and it's working really well still, pleased with this little sat nav!

So I went for the 5" model and although the screen is small it's actually less bulky to have set up in your car. The sucker is designed to fit onto the windscreen but I rigged it up slightly differently using Velcro and seems secure enough. Reason for buying one for the first time since driving for 25 years is that I was abandoned in a car park in a town I didn't know. The two drivers I was going to follow home swiftly disappeared leaving me with no idea how to get home. It was dark. I had a panic attack, drove around aimlessly in the dark until i eventually found a sign that helped me back home. I was physically ill for two weeks after due to stress and anxiety. I did not drive for three weeks after. The reason for sharing this story is because, if I had a Sat Nav none of this would have been a problem. I urge anyone who is a nervous driver to have a Sat Nav. It will save you one day. The Tom Tom range was recommended by a friend. The updates loaded via Wi Fi and it was good to go. Having spoken to the Amazon customer service they did recommend the 6" version over this model but as I'm not short of funds I'll use this until I feel the need to upgrade. I hope I've convinced everyone to get one asap.

Car charger not working

This Tom Tom satnav does nor cover Republic of Ireland Eire codes which is very disappointing. I will be returning it as it is useless in Ireland, Zero star rating.

Does the job well. Not complicated. Starts up and connects quick.

This TomTom looks great BUT it does not have Australian maps. It comes with European maps. So it is quite USELESS in Australia. There are no instructions to follow to get Australian maps.
