Dire
This tasted like a very cheap wine, and I should know as I have drank many such wines. However, it wasn't cheap.I poured 2 glasses, one for me and one for my daughter. Neither of us could drink it, and they went down the drain. The wine tasted of petrol, I have tasted similar to this when I buy sub fiver wines, and so I now avoid this price level. However this cost 50% more than that. This is the price I paid for convenience, arriving from another country (ironically France where for that price you are guaranteed an excellent bottle). I ordered it so I could just get in and relaxNever again

Definitely a winner
This wine is delicious, not too dry and has a lovely fruity taste, I lived in South Africa for 17 years which is where I developed my love of wine, I normally buy New Zealand or Chilean white wine but this is lovely, I would highly recommend, will definitely buy again.

Light, mildly acidic and slightly sweet taste
First of all, my wife said that, as a white wine lover, she was looking forward to trying this Compass Road Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa. She told me that it has lovely fruity taste and it's not too dry or too light. She would say it's slightly sweet with a medium body. She normally drinks Pinot Grigio which is more dry and crisp. In a straight comparison, this wine is definitely sweeter and fruitier. She had this Sauvignon Blanc with a Thai sea food salad which is a little bit spicy/hot but she found that it's a very good combination with a slightly sweet wine like this. Also she thinks that any sea food dishes would be a good match. In fact my wife did say it's quite 'morish' (i.e. she kept wanting more) so she found herself sipping it again and again - always a positive sign. It's simply easy to drink as it's not too heavy. so maybe, it's a great company for a nice relaxing evening watching your favourite film.As for me, I rarely drink white wine (I almost always have red) and while I prefer this Compass Road to any Pinot Grigio, it hasn't left any strong memories. It's slightly sweet with a faint trace of acidity - as far as I'm concerned, anyway. I was expecting the price to be closer to the £10-12 mark so it was a pleasant surprise to see that it's closer to half that. It's nothing remarkable but admittedly quite pleasant. Perhaps the ultimate test - and question - is "would I buy it again?" and I would say yes, I would.

Crisp, dry wine
This is a white wine, savignon blanc, is priced at £7.63. The simplistic design of the bottle compliments the wine and the beautiful pale yellow/green colour of the wine stands out well.Best served chilled, at least 2 hours in the fridge. The bottle is a screw top which is the norm these days and cuts out the need for corkscrews and doesn’t affect the flavour at all .On first smell and taste the wine was unimpressive, very bland and the flavour was quite acidic. However, I found as I left it a while and sipped it the wine become more aromatic. The taste was crisp and refreshing and quite dry on the tongue. It had a slight chemical taste which became more acidic.I would say the flavours were citrusy to me with a tangy finish.Replace in the fridge if not consumed at once and will stay fresh about 2-4 days, after that probably best to use for cooking. The wine has a alcohol content of 13% ABV.I would say this wine would be perfect for a summers picnic or evening drinks with friends. A fresh and clean wine.

A good quality bottle of White Wine!
I’m usually not the biggest fan of white wines, however since I’ve recently become a fan of Compass Road wines, I decided to give this one a go.As far as white wines go, this isn’t anything special, particularly for the price of £6-£7. I found that it was best to be drank chilled, however, upon opening, I would recommend leaving it open for a good 20 minutes before drinking. This provides a less sharp/dry taste and a lot more aromatic and fruity. This bottle has simple yet elegant branding, with a light greenish-gold colour. It features a screw cap opposed to a cork which won’t affect the flavour at all. This wine can stay fresh for no more than 3 days once opened when left in the fridge. This is still a good quality bottle to have paired with particular meals, including that of seafood, green salads and even some chicken dishes. Overall, 4 stars.Thank you for reading my honest review, I hope you found it helpful! :)
