Their initial test was on a steep downhill driveway covered with snow, ice and slush, and I was stunned at what a difference wearing them made for me. There's a bit of a learning curve, as you need to learn to simply trust the cleats and relax your legs. Once I realized I didn't have to be on constant alert for slipping and sliding, I simply let the cleats take over and was able to spread salt up and down the driveway without slipping once.
