How did you come up with the idea for this product?

EzeeCube came from trying to solve a problem for my family. Everyone was frustrated with the difficulty of managing photos of our young daughter. Running out of storage space was a constant issue; every parent can identify with ! I was frustrated with trying to organize the mountains of media from across all of family’s devices, not to mention juggling different computers and external hard drives for data backup and playing movies. My wife, Ariane, jokingly said to me one evening, “You build systems for companies to solve these types of problems, can’t you just build one for us??” Knowing many of my friends were having the same problem, I decided to give it a shot.

What makes your product special?

Our mission is to make easy-to-use solutions for families. Our hardware, software and user interface reflect this mission. EzeeCube is expandable without any wires, setup, or installation, so no technical knowledge is needed. It also automatically organizes files into different categories for easy browsing, and can even get rid of duplicate content.

What has been the best part of your startup experience?

Every step involved in creating a great consumer product from scratch can be difficult. Our team has managed to stay true to our mission of creating family-friendly products from day one, and it’s been worth every minute! It’s an amazing feeling when customers thank us for innovating. They’re happy because they don’t have to manually manage their media anymore, which gives them time to spend with family— and that’s the whole point! Mission accomplished.
