The years of 1960-70s are the years I grew up with this Trenton staple. To this day, the taste & texture of Taylor Pork Roll has remained exactly as I knew it. I suggest you contact the company with your concerns. Or, better yet, just don’t buy it if you think it tastes nasty. Others disagree with you or Taylor Pork Roll would not have such a loyal following.

Does it ship with anything to keep it from going bad?

I do not recall, but shipping was quick and tasted great. I just put it in myfreezer, a d defrosted it as needed. None of it went bad, and lasted at least a month or more.
