Save your dull but expensive kitchen equipment
I use my expensive mandoline a lot (like hundreds of pounds of heavy root veggies), despite a healthy fear of its blade...which has accumulated a fair number of visible nicks and gotten dulled over the years.I finally gave in and started researching what to do about it, hoping that I wouldn't need to purchase a whole new one...I decided to give these a try, even though I was a little nervous about using them myself to sharpen the blade...and they worked great. It was easy and took only minutes to remove four or five major blade nicks with the middle file that were interfering with my ability to make my absolutely perfect scalloped potatoes. Then i finished sharpening the rest of the blade with the finest grit. Just a quick wash and my mandoline was ready to go, without cutting myself. It was easier to use than a traditional knife sharpener and useful in more situations. (I couldn't figure out how to use a traditional knife sharpener on my mandoline because I couldn't / didn't want to completely remove the blade.)The filing surface was well-adhered to the plastic base.I wish I didn't need to buy two sets given my limited need, although the price wasn't completely terrible, given the alternative was replacing my 60-70 dollar mandoline.

Worked fine
Worked fine to sharpen a table saw blade, among other things, but the diamond dust is thin so they didn't last long. Still, for the price a good value.

Don’t last
Every item I sharpened, did not stay sharp for long.

Gets the job done. Easy to handle. Perfect size to sharpen scissors and my kitchen knives. Like the color coating. Comfortable handle.

Keeping shop tools sharp
These files are inexpensive, but all you need for keeping router bits, table saw blades, forstner bits, and any other edge sharp. They are thin so they easily fit between teeth even on blades with 48 or more teeth. They breathe extra life into dull bits which would otherwise be costly to replace.

Just what I needed
My 12 year old mandoline blade was not cutting like it should, and it needed to be sharpened. I didn't want to have to send it somewhere to get it done, and I also didn't want to take it apart to get to the blade. I found a YouTube video that showed a chef using these sharpening stones to sharpen his mandoline, so I bought some to try it. They arrived the next day, and were very easy to use. The handles on the stones make it really easy to get to the blade and keep your fingers from getting cut. Just a few passes over the blade, and it was just like new. It blasted through the carrots I cut with it with no problem. I am very happy with this purchase.

Helpful to have
I saw a video on YouTube where a jewelry maker showed how to sharpen their small cutters. It had never dawned on me to try it myself, since I had mailed mine back to be sharpened in the past, so I thought I’d give it a try.I like the idea of having these. Unfortunately I ended up rounding the edges of my cutters by mistake rather than sharpening them, but that was because I needed to very carefully follow the exact angle of my cutters, as they are small. Luckily these weren’t my REALLY expensive cutters! Oh well, live and learn. These are very handy to have though, don’t take up much space, and can be used in many different applications. But like anything else, practice makes perfect!
